About this listen

PI John Craine is hired to investigate the brutal murder of a Somali youth. The police are treating the murder as a gang-related crime, but the victim’s aunt claims the police are trying to cover up her nephew's death. While investigating the case, Craine learns of the sudden death of his friend Leon Mercer. It appears to be a tragic accident, but Craine soon finds himself entangled in two deeply suspicious investigations.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Listening to this book made sitting in traffic enjoyable. I actually wanted to go and join AA or talk to someone on drugs helpline after going on this characters journey of self destruction with him.

What will your next listen be?

I will give Apple Tree Yard a go. I listen to a wide variety of books, crime, fantasy, science fiction. All I ask is for a good narrator, an interesting, engaging storyline, and likeable characters. Its hard work when you don't like the characters, or think the plot is silly or the narrator makes you grind your teeth.

What about Andrew Wincott’s performance did you like?

Andrew did a good job, he really took you down to the characters depth of depression and self loathing.

Did Wrapped in White inspire you to do anything?

Stick needles in my eyes

Any additional comments?

I personally did not enjoy Wrapped in White and hope the author does not attempt to resurrect the main character in any future sequels.

A dreary depressing listen
