About this listen
Critic reviews
‘The harrowing plot keeps you gripped until the final, devastating revelation.’ (The Sunday Mirror)
This book talks like real life sounds and the humour seeps ever so cunningly from scene to scene. It’s raw, for sure, however, that is how life rolls.
Case loads and the king-that-is-burocracy will have you laughing & crying.
If you’re a little bit squeamish, hang in through the no-holds barred intro and board the rollercoaster
Takes no prisoners or does it

The characterisation was very well done.
The concept, although massively depressing, was very clever.
I really don’t know what to say about this book! It was good, but I really didn’t enjoy it.
Hmmmm… this is a tricky one…

Good until the end

I’m an hour from the end waiting to feel sympathy for the main character.
The humour just isn’t funny, it’s dull.
The plot is fine and has real potential but it relies on the main character and the storylines are left undeveloped in favour of trying to write ‘gags’ that don’t hit the mark.
I’d really thought that this would be just my kind of book and I’m still waiting to see whether there is a moment at the end where everything is drawn together well but I’m not optimistic about it.
A good premise poorly executed.
