Summary

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author comes a novella about the call of the moon—and the life-changing power of love.

Simone's European hiking excursion is cut short when she is brutally attacked by a wolf-like creature in the Piedmont Mountains of Italy. When she awakens from the attack, she finds she has been changed in inexplicable ways and settles into an isolated lifestyle. While she is ever hopeful for a cure, she is also acutely aware that she may never be the same again.

Then Gabe Kirby walks into her life. Her desire for him is beyond human. As Simone risks breaking all of her own rules for a chance at happiness with Gabe, she begins to realize that he may be more than the love of her life—he may be the one to help her find the cure.

Alright, for a short story

I enjoyed the story, its paranormal aspects and the characters.
Yet I found it light and quite predictable.
Still, it is worth a read/listening.

Not the best

This book was not like some of Nora Roberts other novellas. It wasn't bad per se but I did have an issue with the main characters telling each other they loved each other after meeting three times for a grand total of about 20 minutes. I know this is a romance novel but come on.

Fun book!

While the story was not deep or intense it was fun to listen to. Enjoyed the characters and wished for a little more from them. Too short.

Fun, but...

This story was at the high end of okay. It lacked the incredibly rich fabric of the characters's lives that I have come to enjoy with Ms Roberts's tales. It seemed like an earlier work AND it was a novella so there wasn't really the space to weave all those wonderful nuances in. Ms Foster's reading was competent but a bit disappointing. I kept feeling I was in a library with someone reading to me. I have encountered a few narrators who bring the book to life in a 3D, surround sound fashion, so the standards for comparison are quite high & it's easy to fall short. I am not sorry I listened to this but there are many others I would recommend first if asked.

Wolf Moon

This one of Nora Roberts' paranormal book. I love how it is another love can prevail. This isn't like her other books but well worth a listen.

Emily Foster did very good job with performance.

I would recommend this to anyone.
