About this listen

'I believe, from what I can hear, that either my daughter or my wife has just been attacked. I don't know the outcome. The house is silent.'

Fourteen years ago, two teenage lovers were brutally murdered in a patch of remote woodland. The prime suspect confessed to the crimes and was imprisoned. Now, one family is still trying to put the memory of the killings behind them. But at their isolated hilltop house...the nightmare is about to return.

Great twist, great read, long live Jack Caffrey and the walking man!!!
I hope that their story continues, would like more closure for them both.

Gripping

I really am not fan of American slaughter books but I did enjoy this. There is slaughter but is positioned in an original and interesting plot and the deaths are limited. Peopled with Interesting character and a plot that rips along. Yup, I think I will try another by Mo

I love the way jot Davies tells the Mo Hayder stories he is my favourite narrator and I wish he did more, so far I have only found two audio books read by him.
POPPET is the other Mo Hayder book he reads and it is by far the creepiest, if u enjoyed Wolf then defo give this one a try!

Wolf is an all round good book!

If you could sum up Wolf in three words, what would they be?

Exciting, absorbing, addictive

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack - so complex. Fab deductions, clever policeman. So happy with Bear and him!

Which scene did you most enjoy?

so many to mention . Possibly Bear and him.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Cried about the dog but all OK. So upset for Oliver and Matilda

Any additional comments?

I thought Poppet was good but loved this one

Fabulous Mo Hayder book, very exciting!

If you know your Hayder then you know what to expect. Dastardly criminals, convoluted schemes, a twist in the end and uncomfortably graphic descriptions of acts of cruelty mostly against women. It's a bit of a slow starter but once it gets going it rattles along at a good pace i worked out what the twist was in advance and was then blindsided by a completely different one.
The only complaint i have is unfortunately about Caffery himself, ever since 'The Treatment' it feels as if he has been running out of steam as a character and in this he is more of a supporting character then ever before IMO. However it doesn't hurt the story at all, if your a fan of Hayder you wont be disappointed.

Solid Mo Hayder, sub-par Jack Caffery
