Summary

This program is read by the author.

A revealing, dramatic, deeply personal book about the most significant events of our time, written by the former United States ambassador to the United Nations

Nikki Haley is widely admired for her forthright manner (“with all due respect, I don’t get confused”), her sensitive approach to tragic events, and her confident representation of America’s interests as our ambassador to the United Nations during times of crisis and consequence.

In this book, Haley offers a firsthand perspective on major national and international matters as well as a behind-the-scenes account of her tenure in the Trump administration.

This book reveals a woman who can hold her own - and better - in domestic and international power politics, a diplomat who is unafraid to take a principled stand even when it is unpopular, and a leader who seeks to bring Americans together in divisive times.

'With all due respect, I don't get confused!'

I certainly would not bet against Nikki Haley one day being the president of the United States.

Clarity, focus, fatigueless

I didn't know much about Nikki Haley; it's very surprising, and you don't think of a national politician with this kind of poise. The way she describes race and her experiences at the U.N. is with focus on the positive. Of course she's a politician, so I was guarded against drinking cool aid. But I'm more or less gushing to my wife about how good she is, how perfectly she told her story about being in a beauty pageant, and how well she communicates when the context is quite difficult.

Now I didn't find the book suspenseful like I expected. And it doesn't have the kind of a hook popular memoirs do. Instead I classify the book as 'uplifting', but in a way not based on ideology, religion or party affiliation. I feel like I could hear the author's voice, see her image on the news constantly for at least three years without feeling a sense of fatigue.

Wow! What a read.

Wow, what a read!
I’ve been a Niki Haley fan based upon her political leadership. Now I see her in a whole new light. Hearing her impassioned description of the Charleston shooting and describing her own grief over this incident made the strong emotions generated very palpable. Ambassador Haley clearly has an inspiring personal story and her political leadership is demonstratively unmatched.

The press releases of this book seem to emphasize her toughness in standing up to the arrogant establishment opposing both her and the president but this book is far more! Not only is it a story of an unexpected outsider rising to meet the challenges of the “American Dream” but it truly is a harbinger outlining the life and soul of our first Female American President!

I am so impressed with Ambassador Haley’s leadership experiences but in no way am I surprised. From her emotive servant oriented leadership style to her demonstrated ethical values, I am evermore convinced of her ability to bridge the gap of political polarization in America today.

Thank you Ambassador for faithfully serving our president, our nation, and for being the strong voice for the American People whom you have so well represented! Also, thank you for giving us, your fellow Americans, a glimpse into your heart and soul as a person just like us.

Nikki Haley is a Badass

I think Nikki Haley Brilliantly side stepped the Resistances in the White House. She will be a Formidable POTUS one day. Her Strenght, Determination and Love of Country are exactly what we need in our Government. America First, Our Strenght is Necessary to the Worlds Future, because without a Strong 🇺🇸, the Chaos in the World takes over.

Would highly recommend.

A must-have for MAGA people, and others. It covers many topics by former Ambassador Haley, even things during her time as governor. A great look at work as a diplomat, a profession I hope to acheeve some day myself

Self serving emotional "odesy" .

I really wanted to like it... but other than emotional virtue signaling, it's vacuous..

Well, bless my heart

I became a fan of Nikki Haley when I saw how she represented me and all other Americans at the U.N. I thought her straightforward approach and "take names" attitude was refreshing and much needed. I know it was much appreciated by this American.

Listening to this book you will learn a lot about how she got there and the back stories behind the front stories we saw at home. You will understand more of the whys behind the whats.

It was a very interesting, informative and enjoyable journey for me and I expect it will be for you too.

Bless Your Heart

Nikki introduces herself to a broader audience. She has a message of inclusion, rejecting labels. She explains that the President calls the shots, and - as a cabinet member - if one disagrees, one speaks up or leaves, but must not undermine.

She provides context for policies she has championed. I would encourage anyone to read those, especially those who disagree. Not to convince them, but to see that it is possible a civil argument can be made about important issues.

Nikki discusses the threat of rising socialism and the value of capitalism. I hope she'll expand on that in her future work, as those who are - in Nikki's words - 'misguided' may - imho - be excused for being confused. IMHO if we want to preserve capitalism, we need to cultivate it, explain what it is and what it is not.

She points out she first joined public office a Tea Party Republican; in this context, she briefly touches on fiscal discipline. In a recent interview since publishing the book, she also points to fiscal discipline as an important issue we should focus on. Beyond that, however, the book was rather light on fiscal issues. In that sense, the book focuses on the reader getting to know here, it's not a policy handbook.

On policy, while she provided in-depth arguments on topics such as moving the embassy to Jerusalem, or the US leaving the UN Human Rights Council (and the reader may agree or disagree), her arguments on some topics were a bit light (e.g.: India is a democracy, hence not possibly a threat to anyone which - with all due respect - failed to mention that Pakistan might take issue with that as it relates to Kashmir); and when she drops a sentence about China being a currency manipulator, it weakened the book as it appeared to try to score a political point, but lacking any sort of analysis.

Those criticisms should not deflect from the fact that this is an excellent book. It's excellent because it shows how someone can thrive in the Trump administration without agreeing to all ('not a wallflower'); it's excellent because it provides hope that there are politicians working hard to bring us together in a divisive world. And excellent because it allows us a glimpse at what may well be the next generation of politicians that may well influence our journey in years to come.

What a powerful voice for human rights.

Nikke Haley will be the Queen Solomon who follows King David and heals the nation he (Trump) secures as well as recalibrates international institutions and runs the race against China (generational) Russia, Iran and NK. Under Obama and to a lesser extent Bush, virtually our entire foreign policy establishment had resigned itself to America's surrender to China over the coming generation, and then along came Trump who said "Oh hell no."

Trump is recalibrating the nation and condition/nature of foreign alliances to strengthen our hand enough to run the coming economic, political, cultural, and military gauntlet against China, and turning over many apple carts in the process. He has (and is in the process of) strengthened our military and economy, took on NATO to induce them to beef up their game, backed Brexit so our strongest ally remains at our side, encouraged strong alliances between Sunni Arabs and Israel so they would at least be able to hold off Iran long enough for us to get there if it ever came to war,, obtained energy independence, beefed up our manufacturing base essential to our national defense and maintaining our social fiber, is working to bring Turkey back into the NATO fold and out of Russia's, trying to at least neutralize NK, fought trade wars and imposed tariffs, and embarked on a journey aimed at decoupling us from China, all in the name of recalibrating the chess board so we have a good shot at winning the coming global competition with China. (Any trade deal Trump negotiates with China will be broken by China, which is why he is trying to install triggers/ automatic penalties that kick in when they do, and why China is resisting.) All of this has and will continue to upset many applecarts in the establishment, as has been absolutely necessary to deal us a winning hand. Moreover, it has had to be done without a full open, national discussion which would have kept more Americans on board, in the name of not triggering a direct open show down with China which would at best melt the global economy down and at worse, trigger WW3 (there is a reason the establishment had all but surrendered without a fight before Trump) we are absolutely not ready for just yet.

There is a reason God chose David to secure a nation but saw him unfit to build the temple, thus chose Solomon for that. Once Trump completes the recalibration, Haley will follow in 2024 and heal and unify the nation as well as recalibrate international institutions. She is a powerful, powerful moral socioemotional leader and voice for human rights, and unlike the silver spooned, phony petite bourgeoisie defenders of the status quo on the left, Haley has the real intellectual death, wisdom, convictions, experience and moral courage to lead real change, She will be as the pied piper and the real McCoy who calls up young people across this nation to sign up for service. Haley has the command presence, credibility and ability to do so. Young people will dump the leftist hate mongers, phonies and hypocrites on the left have no fear. But, Trump must complete the heavy lifting and dirty work first.

Trump is similar to a battlefield medic who is ripping off scabs, digging out bullets and draining infections. He can not do that and then show up with chicken soup the next day. That will be Nikke's job. What a powerful, powerful book and voice for human rights around the world she is and will be even more of when she becomes Americas first female President in 2024. Moreover, she fully exposes those resistant to change. Extremely inspirational. I thank God there are still Americans such as Haley in positions of leadership that truly have the pulse of and totally grasp the essence of the very soul of America and what it is to be an American.
