You really need to read the other books in this series and the Academy of Shifters series to get the full experience from this book as it will help you appreciate what's going on. It jumps right in, and if you haven't, it can be more disorientating. The book was really good to listen to, and you can relate to Meena and Rahm as they are trying to grasp what is happening and how things are different, similar, and why they are.

This book as always has amazing narration. It just feels so far from the story line of Season 1 it was a bit harder for me to get into. I loved the ending which helps with the rating but this one may be one best to reread the ending to season 1 before jumping into season 2 if a bit of time has passed because you feel like you are playing catch up at the beginning and the books aren’t that long each.
