One of his best stories to date. If you have read”The Day of the Jackal” and enjoyed it, then this story will excite you. Superbly narrated by Susannah Fielding who delivers pace, accent and flow in equal measure to the highest standard. Ian Rankin story is refreshingly told, this man is a Master of his craft. Excellent in every way.

Gripping.

Good plot and a couple of twists before it is possible to start working out who the Witch is and where she came from.

Slowish start but gets more gripping ..

I really enjoyed this audiobook by Ian Rankin (writing as Jack Harvey).

As with Ian’s Rebus books there was a lot of twists and turns. It also had a lot of police procedural elements.

The narrator was also good too, bringing the characters to life.

“Witch”.

When I saw Ian Rankin was the writer I bought this with great expectations. I wish now I hadn’t bothered. The whole thing is a huge non event made worse by an irritating narrator.
I’m just relieved that is finally finished.

More than a bit disappointed
