About this listen

The brand new novella in the Sunday Times #1 bestselling Rivers of London series.

****

THEY DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY ACROSS THE POND...

When ex-FBI Agent Patrick Henderson calls in an 'X-Ray Sierra India' incident, the operator doesn't understand. He tells them to pass it up the chain till someone does.

That person is FBI Special Agent Kimberley Reynolds. Arriving snowbound Northern Wisconsin, she finds that a tornado has flattened half the town - and there's no sign of Henderson.

Things soon go from weird to worse, as neighbours report unsettling sightings, key evidence goes missing, and the snow keeps rising - cutting off the town, with no way in or out...

As the clues lead to the coldest of cold cases - a cursed expedition into the frozen wilderness - Reynolds follows a trail from the start of the American nightmare, to the horror that still lives on today...

Not nearly as good as the stories set in the uk. Storyline lacks complexity and humour. Nothing new to be gained here, sad to say.

A bit disappointing

Great story following on from the Rivers of London series, I struggled to get used to no Peter Grant but Kimberly is a good character.

Great story

Agree with other reviewers that this is not up to usual standard, but I also think I’m suffering Kobna Holbrook Smith withdrawal.
The narrator’s pitch and tone seems jarring initially but I did get used to it. I agree with others that her accents and male voices were ropey. However I think KHS is outstanding so that’s a hard act to follow. Hope the next book is better and voiced by a decent narrator.

Improves with listening

Good narration overall, although I can't tell if the accents were authentic being British.
story was OK but the main attractions were more Rivers Of London anything and a chance to hear an FBI Kim story.
worth a listen.

was nice to get FBI Kim story

Once I was into the story I did enjoy it, as long as you don’t expect Peter Grant you won’t be disappointed. I agree with other reviews that it was light on the folk law & I do wonder if that was intentional, that this is an introductory book to allow us to get to know Kimberly, and set a backdrop for other stories which I will read.

Enjoyable just not Rivers of London
