About this listen

The brand new novella in the Sunday Times #1 bestselling Rivers of London series.

****

THEY DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY ACROSS THE POND...

When ex-FBI Agent Patrick Henderson calls in an 'X-Ray Sierra India' incident, the operator doesn't understand. He tells them to pass it up the chain till someone does.

That person is FBI Special Agent Kimberley Reynolds. Arriving snowbound Northern Wisconsin, she finds that a tornado has flattened half the town - and there's no sign of Henderson.

Things soon go from weird to worse, as neighbours report unsettling sightings, key evidence goes missing, and the snow keeps rising - cutting off the town, with no way in or out...

As the clues lead to the coldest of cold cases - a cursed expedition into the frozen wilderness - Reynolds follows a trail from the start of the American nightmare, to the horror that still lives on today...

Not nearly as good as the stories set in the uk. Storyline lacks complexity and humour. Nothing new to be gained here, sad to say.

A bit disappointing

Enjoyed it I overall, but details about supernatural characters a bit thinner than usual x

Enjoyable but a bit thin on folklore

Great story following on from the Rivers of London series, I struggled to get used to no Peter Grant but Kimberly is a good character.

Great story

Good narration overall, although I can't tell if the accents were authentic being British.
story was OK but the main attractions were more Rivers Of London anything and a chance to hear an FBI Kim story.
worth a listen.

was nice to get FBI Kim story

Story had a slow start but I enjoyed it thoroughly as it built up. I liked the Kimberley character. At first I was very put off by the religious angle but it worked as the character evolved and developed its own sense of satire about it.
I’m not from the USA so couldn’t remark on the accuracy of the narrator’s accent, but she used the same over-staged, incredibly poor imitation of a male voice for all the male characters (and there were many).
I love the Rivers of London series and would love to see a sequel here.
I wouldn’t listen though if the same narrator was used.

Terrible narration
