Win is one of those HC characters that you either have a soft spot for or you despise. No-one could ever say they like him but, by the end of this, you may be prepared to tolerate another Win driven novel should HC decide the character has more to say. Although he did use up quite a lot of clichés in this one so it may be just a one time deal.

I love Harlan Coben novels, particularly the Myron Bolitar series, and this book on his side kick Win was every bit as good. It helps if you’ve read the Myron series but can be read as a stand alone.

I've read many Harlan Coben novels, and prior to this I listened to Home. It was also narrated by Stephen Weber, and it was on that basis alone that I got this. He is the master narrator. He brings the books to life. Each character has a distinct voice and a personality. There are LOTS of characters in this, so that's no mean feat!

And I have to say, the narration does save this in some way. There is a bit of padding that if I had been reading, I would have skim read, flicking pages. But Weber does a great job of keeping your attention.

The story seemed to end abruptly for me. I went out for a walk, thinking I had 90 minutes left to listen to, and so I took an extended route. Unfortunately, the last 40 minutes turned out to be an interview with Harlan Coben. I gave up. The interviewer was Richard Armitage - he should stick to acting. And so because I was expecting the story to last that full 90 minutes, it all seemed over in no time, all neatly tied up. But that aside, I'd still only give the story 4/5. I felt like Coben was establishing Win in his own right as the lead in the book. Perhaps if there's another novel featuring Win centre stage then it will be better.

I DID enjoy the story immensely, but having just finished Home, this falls short.

I love the author and wait impatiently for new releases. I re-read a lot too. I am devastated that I have finished 'Win' too quickly. The narrator is so good and enhanced for me, the enjoyment. another great story, can't wait for more of Win!!
