Summary

Trouble at Hungry Horse, audiobook four: Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, no sooner leaves Glacier National Park than she encounters some trouble with her RV and tow car, necessitating an unexpected layover at a campground in the nearby small town of Hungry Horse, Montana.

Within an hour of checking in, however, a gunshot rings out, and Minnie finds herself on her hands and knees hiding under a park bench. But the shot wasn’t meant for her. In fact, no one can even find the shooter or a gun.

It seems everyone hated the victim. Everyone! The question is who hated the victim enough to kill her? Minnie just wants to get her RV fixed and get on the road, but she soon finds herself immersed in the repercussions of a decades-old tragedy.

Trouble at Snake and Clearwater, audiobook five: Minnie Crockwell receives a call from her niece, Tiffany, who has recently moved from Arizona to Washington to be with her boyfriend. Lonely in a new area, Tiffany asks Aunt Minnie to stop by for a visit.

Finding a wonderful RV site with a panoramic view of the Snake River, Minnie settles in for a short, relaxing visit with her niece. Binoculars in hand, she admires the scenery - from the golden hills across the river to the fishermen trolling in boats. The beauty of the scene is marred though, when one fisherman disappears from his boat right before her eyes.

Trouble in Florence, audiobook six: Minnie Crockwell is heading south to warmer climates by way of Highway 101, also known as the Oregon Coast Highway and Pacific Highway. She stops for a few days in the quaint little seaside town of Florence, Oregon, for a stay at the Tuscan Sands RV Park.

Minnie wastes no time heading to the beach for a walk with Ben. What could be more relaxing than walking on a nearly deserted Pacific Northwest beach?

But the dangerous and erratic driver of a blue Jeep, the fierce coastal storm that sweeps through overnight, a barking dog that paws at the sand, and the discovery of a body partially submerged beneath a log on the beach all conspire to take the "relax" out of relaxing.

Against her will and Ben’s words of caution, Minnie cannot help but try to solve the mystery of the trouble in Florence.

Three times the trouble

I enjoyed this box set. You get three individual stories that follow of from.each other and are great if you want just a short listen or you can listen to them all at once like one longer story. Either way you are in for a treat because they are all good fun. The only continuous is the main character, her ghostly companion and the fact that each murder takes place in a campground, so with different locations and people or suspect's you never get time to get board.
Trouble in hungry horse book one (book four in the series) -5 stars.
Minnie RV breaks down causing her and her ghostly companion Ben to make an unscheduled stop while it is fixed. She is not there long before a gun shot is fired and she rushes off to help the victim. But the office is empty and there is no.body. Not unless you count the strangled victim upstairs but Minnie only knows that because she sent Ben. The police don't release the cause of death and Minnie struggles to question the murdered ladies family without giving the game way that she knows more than she is supposed to. The lady had only just come back to town but it seem there were a lot of people that wished she hadn't.bothered, if she hadn't maybe she would still be alive. Minnie can't leave the campground until the RV is fixed but does she really want to get involved in a families troubled past?
Trouble at snake and clear waters book three (book five In series) -5 stars
Minnie is making a slight detour to visit her niece who has just moved in with her boyfriend and away from home for the first time. Minnie finds the ideal campground with a lovely view of the lake. Well it was lovely until she witnesses a man fall out of his boat while fishing. She calls the police but by the time they arrive he is gone. It gets worse for Minnie when she learns her niece new boyfriend's mother owns the campground and seems to be able to bewitch everyman she come into contact with. Worried about her niece Minnie sticks around in order to get to the bottom of what looked like a tragic accident but In fact was another under. Her niece's boyfriends family can't possible have anything to do with it, can they?
Trouble in Florance book three (book six in the series)- 4 stars
Chasing after the warmer weather Minnie and Ben head to a campground near the beach to relax. Before arriving they are nearly in an accident with a fast car in a hurry to get somewhere. That somewhere turns out to be on the site right next Minnie's RV spot for the night. Things are not off to a good start when the owner proves himself to be rude. Minnie wants to give him a piece of her mind when she sees the same car driving recklessly in the beach car park but the car is empty by the time she nears it. The next day a dog walker finds the body of a woman washed up on the beach. The woman turns out to be the ex wife of the man in the next RV. Minnie finds herself caught up in the family drama when the man's two son turn up. With yet something else going wrong on the RV, Minnie has to stay longer than she planned and every time she sets out her door she finds herself in more trouble.
I like the narrator she does a good job bringing the characters to life and making the drama unfold right in front of your eyes.

cozy mysteries

I believe it is better to get the box set (if you can). This way you do not have to buy the next book and just move onto the next in the series.
My problem with this series is I found that they were short and would have prefered them to be a bit more longer.
I did like the main character and her friendly ghost.
It is a clean read so it is suitable for all.

Murder and mayhem everywhere I go.

Perhaps Miranda Crockwell should consider giving up her RV and her travels around the country to again settle down in a large city: surely someone will spot the trail of bodies accumulating in the camp sites of the small towns she visits? After all, general police consensus is usually that there is no such thing as coincidence, and even Minnie suspects that she must be some harbinger of doom as someone is found dead within hours of her arrival at each new stopping place. And nosey Minnie is always right there in the middle, asking questions, to the horror of her travelling companion, Ben, a nineteenth century ghost only she can hear and sometimes feel.

This delightful cozy box set contains three mysteries:
Book 4, Trouble at Hungry Horse. Minnie makes an unexpected stop when her RV developed a fault which needs a repair. Taken to the Hungry Horse camp sight, Minnie has only just booked in and settled when a gun shot has her running to the office for safety.
Book 5, (starting at chapter 13). Trouble at Snake and Backwater. A fisherman disappears as Minnie watches him through her binoculars.
Book 6, (starting at chapter 22). Trouble in Florence. Heading for the coast, the tranquility of a walk with Ben on a deserted beach is broken by a women's scream: her dog has uncovered a body in the sand.

Quick and easy reads, each story interesting and fun, with good local descriptions and some great, if brief, characterisations. The narration is excellent. Michelle Babb's voice is easy on the ear and she fits comfortably into the character of Millie as well as ably voicing each of the other protagonists differently. Her reading conveys the emotional impact of the text, also, and is nicely cadenced and paced.

Minnie & Ben at it again!

Minnie is out traveling the country with a unique traveling companion! A dead soldier from the 1900's. Their relationship is quite funny! They solve murders at beautiful parks and camp sites around the country. You feel like you are right there with them in each mystery they encounter.

I want to enjoy this!

I'm sorry up front.. but I just can't get into this series. I have listened to all 6 now and I just can't stand Minnie's snooping, how nosey she is...like I seriously kind of enjoy it when she gets called out for it...I also have a rough time with every RV park she goes to there us a murder..I know its fiction...but enough. Best part is Ben...he has scruples!

Narration was great...

Will Travel for Trouble

And the traveling with Minnie and Ben continues, with a few more bodies in the mix. I love how Minnie’s curiosity and eavesdropping usually leads to solving the mystery. The companionship that she has with Ben is interesting as well. So hard to gain feelings for someone you can’t even see or touch. I have enjoyed these stories so far and look forward to more in the future.

deserving people

I love Ben's straight forward style and his caring and protective nature toward Mini. This set of murders can almost be rationalize. The victims were not nice people and hated by many. Some cases seeemed like a conspiracy of several people to keep the secret. Mini continues her relentless pursuit of justice regardless of personal injury to herself. I love the emails with her ex- sparks??? I have enjoyed following along with the mysteries. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.

Will Travel for Trouble books 4-6

Minnie and Ben just can't seem to stay away from trouble and this duo is quite the pair. The books are so much fun to listen to. I really am enjoying the series and how Minnie just can't stay out of the center of it all. I enjoyed the narration it was very easy to listen to.
