Summary

He's training an elite team of wolves. She's a witch with a dangerous secret. The magic they make together is wild. Daniel Wilding's family is being meticulously stalked by the Wolf Hunter. Daniel takes a leave from the army to fight back by assembling a team of white wolves; shifters who can tap into an ancient witchy magic. The only problem? The sexy witch brought in to train them is stirring up the wild magic inside him; magic he'd rather keep buried. But when he finds the hot little witch has a secret of her own, his wolf won't rest until he uncovers it, only what he finds might let loose the wildest magic of all.

Terrible book and worse narration..

Really? The last book in the series and it only has 66 pages? I’ve read the other 5 books but this one was such a disappointment. Daniel only deserved 66 pages? That is soooo not right. AND it went so long without anyone saying a word when the story began I was beginning to think this would be a book without dialogue.

And WTH kind of ending to this series is this. Here’s part of the blurb from this story:

“Daniel Wilding’s family is being meticulously stalked by the Wolf Hunter. Daniel takes a leave from the Army to fight back by assembling a team of white wolves—shifters who can tap into an ancient witchy magic.”

Seriously? The Wolf Hunter was never caught or killed. Daniel met Skylar, they decided they were mates, they had sex, The End! This was book 6 of 6. Did I miss something in the other 5 books I read? Or is the Wolf Hunter just free to keep doing his experiments and killing wolves? A truly horrible ending. They all got their HEA but the bad guy goes free? I don’t know why I bothered.

There was sex in this book and the F-bomb was used 12 times.

As to the narrators: I can tell you Lydia Alexander is one terrible narrator! She reads like she’s in a race, she reads with no emotions and her voice is the same no matter who’s talking. Every man sounded just like her. She has ONLY this book that she’s narrated and already I don’t want to listen to her again. This is 2017 NOT 2009, where narrators know to sound manly when a man is talking, NOT just read the book like a speed reader.

As to narrator: Jong Lee? This is also his only narration and he’s just like Ms. Alexander. He reads too fast and the women sound like a man sometimes and he reads without emotion. WTH? That’s a heck-of-a way to end a series: 66 pages and 2 awful narrators. It was disappointing all the way around.

Ripped off

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Giving Daniel more than a short story. WTF???? Lazy lazy lazy Alisa Woods. Seems like she was just trying to get this out of the way so she could move on. I was really looking forward to Daniel's story right back when I was reading the River Pack series and this was it? seriously?

Would you ever listen to anything by Alisa Woods again?

yes because I have enjoyed the others I have read. I just think she got lazy with this one. Almost like Daniel's book was an after thought like "Oh shit! I forgot to give Daniel his story. I will just whip something up, should only take me an hour or so".

How could the performance have been better?

get rid of Lydia Alexander. Get someone who knows how to 'narrate' a story, not just 'read' it. I can 'read' a story. it takes talent to be able to 'narrate' a story and Lydia Alexander doesn't have that talent

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Wild Magic?

Cut what? there wasn't enough story to cut!!!!

Cute and enjoyable. Daniel found his mate. Short and a easy listen. She's a witch.

Narrators

The male narrator is good but the female narrator just sounds like she is reading a book out loud. She is almost monotone. However, the story fills in some gaps in book five.

I still love it

As much as I would love to say Daniel deserves a full book of his own, which is true, this was a good "epilogue" for book 5. To me, we saw bits and pieces through Book 5 of Daniel's relationship building!

This just gives a bit more behind the scenes to the previous book.

I will say this, I WANT MORE....I want more books I want to see more about Mama River. I want them to go back and update us on the previous River pack and Wilding pack men and women. I miss them already!

For what it's worth this was a great companion book to the series.

Terrible Narration!

The narrators were terrible in this book! They had no emotion and talked way too fast. The story wasn't too bad but compared to the rest of the series, Daniel didn't get the time or consideration as the others. Thank God this book was the last because if it was the first i wouldn't have read the others.

Short

but straight to the point. A witch with a secret wolf sidem and a wolf with an untapped witch side. Definitely recommend this short story.

Daniel deserved more

I enjoyed the story, but felt as if some of the development was missing. Daniel has been through a lot and is so guarded that it seems unrealistic for him to except and fall for his mate so quickly. Skylar was fun and quirky, but I wanted to know more about her and her coven. The story felt incomplete.
