Suspense, Passion, & Romance

I loved this story and the characters. Whole Again, the first book in the hometown Heroes Series is a beautifully written tale. The characters, John and Viki, are wonderful, their story will tug at your heartstrings. Meghan Kelly does a stellar job with the narration, capturing the sense of Colleen S. Myers's words. This was a fabulous listen and I strongly recommend it. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Long lost love

This is a romantic story with a suspense twist. Characters are interesting and developed. There are love, drama, and excitement. The story characters are not just loving birds, but also parents and grandparents. We can see how different generations shape up the main characters. The coolest grandma is my favorite. The narrator, Meghan, always manages to do a stunning job and she certainly did so with this audiobook. All characters had their own voice and personality.

Great Entertainment,

John, who has loved Vicki since he was 8 years old, meets up with her after his return from Iraq where he lost part of his one leg. This fact he tries to hide from everyone except his closest friends. Vicki realizes that she is falling in love with him and there are some very amusing scenes when they try to get amorous but keep on being interrupted. Then there is a pretty hectic mystery to be solved, a car bomb explosion, an ex husband and his mother to contend with, some pretty supportive and sometimes very amusing friends and the outspoken and really lovable grandmother, as well as a bit of heat in this well written and enjoyable book. It is one of those stories that I personally wished would go on and on - I enjoyed it that much. Meghan Kelly has done another outstanding narration and brings her amazing repertoire into play with wonderful results. I love everything about this audiobook and highly recommend it! I listened to a promotional copy of the audiobook and my unbiased review above is given voluntarily.

There’s a real plot here

I liked it, but although the narration wasn’t exactly bad, it was dull at times and I’m pretty sure I’d have liked it more as an ebook than as an audiobook. I love me some veteran coming back home damaged, both physically and mentally. And I especially enjoy when they’re loved anyway–because, let’s face it, everyone deserves to be loved, and that goes for war heroes too. I was a bit disappointed that the focus was mainly on the physical though. As a second chance romance, it worked well, and it worked even better as a romantic suspense. There’s a real plot here–one not resolved by the end of the book–with threats, violence, and even some deaths. I’m not sure the explanation will be good enough, but at least it kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m not sure I’ll be reading the next book in the series, but this one was still enjoyable.

This was an ok story.

I liked this story... but it felt very unfinished to me. Colleen S Myers write an intriguing story.. but I want to know more! John was injured while in the marines... comes home to finish his schooling. Vicky, who crushes on John all through high school, is divorced and living life in her own. She sees John again and it reignites old feelings. Someone wants to hurt Vicky, but they don’t know who. Meghan Kelly did a good job with the narration.

Filled with Zippy pick -up lines

This is a very enjoyable story. There are many ups and downs. Along with some scary times. Each characters has their own self doubt to deal with. But that kiss....in the kitchen....so HOT! Not a first kiss but still WOW! This author does an amazing job making these characters come to life. I zip right through then usually can’t wait to read the next one. One of my favorite things about this story....the PICK-UP One liners!! John and his military buds use one liners to pick up women. Vicki likes them too so they banter back and forth using them. There are a ton! Made the story more fun! I loved all the secondary characters. They added some fun and levity to the story. Of course I can’t wait to see what happens next with Bray. I did listen to this on audio. Meghan Kelly is so wonderful and easy to listen to.

While with this story

This is a fabulous book. The author wrote a strong story that has depth, mystery and love . Hero is John. He’s an ex marine . Heroine is Vicki . Both John and Vicki get together again after a time of separation . Vicki needs help trying to find out who’s after her. There is death threats against Vicki and the person slashes her tire . That’s where John comes in. They try to figure it out together. Grab it and find out who and why . Meghan Kelly performance was beautiful, beyond fantastic. She always nails down the story with her doing all the characters.

What an exciting and action filled story! There were twists and turns that I didn’t expect. Meghan Kelly is a very gifted narrator. She can do every character and I know immediately who they are. Can’t wait for the next one.
