About this listen

In a fading town, far from anyone he knew or trusted, a young Lemony Snicket began his apprenticeship in an organization nobody knows about. He began asking questions that shouldn't have been on his mind. In this title, he has written an account that should not be published and shouldn't be listened to.

Having read and enjoyed the 'series of unfortunate events' series by lemony snicket, i was curious about this new book and it sure didn't disappoint. The humor is the same, with ridiculously funny conversations between the mainly teenage characters, narrated from the view of a young boy... The 'definitions' of supposedly difficult words is always hilarious and also enjoyed the narrators style.

Fun

Wasn't certain I would appreciate this series being a fan of the Unfortunate Events books - but well worth a listen.

Pleasantly surprised

I love the story and author. The narrator (who portrayed Klaus well in the first movie adaptations of ASOUE, kept mixing up the words “a word which here means” into “a word here, which means” - and it kept being distracting and removing from the immersion, especially as someone myself who’s read the books.

Love Lemony, Narrator Was Okay
