About this listen

Knox

What do you do when the love of your life chooses someone else? Easy, you find a nice rebound. If it just so happens to be his hot, dumb hunk of a brother, even better.

Elton Hill is everything wrong with people. He's loud, annoying, way too intense, and pushes too hard. But he's available, and our secret friends-with-benefits relationship turns out to be exactly what I need.

When I start to see a different side of him, things change. Apparently, the intense, sensitive, flamingo-loving golden retriever is perfect for me, and I'm not willing to give him up.

Except I've been keeping a secret that threatens to ruin the best thing that ever happened to me. I don't know how long I can put off the inevitable, and I can only hope we're strong enough to weather the aftermath of my mistake.

Whiskey Sour is a dual-PoV, friends-with-benefits, dislike-to-love romance. With lingering secrets, too many flamingos, and meddling coworkers, Whiskey Sour will leave you on the edge of your seat. This is the second in a series of interconnected standalones featuring the workers of Club XO as they try to find their HEAs.

If I thought Dirty Martini and Rhys & Ev were good... this is even better. Don't get me wrong, I still love DM, but damn if Knox & Elton are on the next level.

Just like with the first book from this series, in the beginning, I legit couldn't understand how these two would get together, but some Blue N@pp/les later we had our answer. 😅

Their love story starts in the most unorthodox way... and for all the wrong reasons, but da/mn if it didn't work best for them.

Knox is not an easy man to be around by any sociable accepted standard, and it shows. He is lonely, often pushed aside, ignored... he is the way he is because someone had to protect him, and since no one was there to do that, he did it himself.

Elton is that popular, golden retriever guy that represents all those things K ha/tes. He's the exact opposite, but these exact qualities are what Lennox needed to start learning his worth.

I cried at the end of this book because the way they love each other is just so, so beautiful it hurt. They truly are soulmates, and if you've read Dirty Martini first ( which I highly recommend ), you know how much Elton just wanted to find someone to love him, accept him, and see him. He needed that, wished for those things, maybe prayed for it, but I can guarantee that he did not expect Knox to be his soulmate.

I'm obsessed. I need more of them...

This book surprised me, more than I expected, and I know for a fact it now belongs to that 're-read favs of all time' list.

10/10, highly recommend.

The audiobook was also fire, I am so glad I got to do my re-read by listening to it.
