About this listen

Tyler Miller had it all. A young man going into his fourth year of college. He carried a high GPA in school, had a beautiful girlfriend whom he intended to ask to be his wife soon. He even had a bright future ahead of him as an accountant with a large corporation he had interned with in his junior year of college. Until one day when he got a call from his girlfriend’s father, telling him that she had ended her own life at her home.

Stricken with grief and lost in depression, Tyler takes time to calm his mind, taking a week alone to do the only thing that would bring him inner peace before his senior year started: go on a hike and camping trip. With what positive energy he had left in his soul, Tyler packed his things and traveled to the Kwakwaka trailhead on Canada’s Vancouver Island. Once there, he parked his car for the weeklong adventure and traveled up the lonely forest Trail alone. Pushing himself deeper into the island’s dark secluded forest.

While hiking the trail, Tyler comes across a campsite with a burning campfire and an old Native American Indian sitting by the fire, silent, still, and stoic as he stared deeply into the dancing flames. Curious about the old man, he sits by the campfire and begins to hold conversations with him as if he is drawn by some unseen force.

What Tyler experiences shortly after meeting the old man brings him to the brink of utter madness and despair, as he experiences vivid and horrific hallucinations and delusions from the five guardians he meets there in the forest. Exposing his own past and the realities of the present until he uncovers the truths about what had really happened to the love of his life.

Will Tyler overcome the horrors of the guardians in the forest, sifting through their messages to him and expose the truths? Righting the wrongs that have been done in the present day that will drastically alter his own future? Or will he succumb to the guardians and become lost in his own mind forever?
