About this listen

From the beginning Daniel Mendoza has struggled with who he is and where he is going in life. Fatherless, Daniel learns from a myriad of male friends and neighbors who come into his life from childhood to adulthood about what it actually means to be a man. His journey is incomplete, as he dreams and yearns for his own father to teach him. When Dreams Abound: A Return to Chambers Lane is the telling sequel of youthful discord and aging regret over a span of decades from the perspective of one particular member of the Mendoza family.

This is quite a good book, telling the story of Daniel from his boyhood into adulthood it presents a good knowledge of how an adolescent looks at life and finds out it isn't all it seems to be as he grows into adulthood. Well narrated, after reading book 1 i criticised the narrator Jack Nolan slightly for hesitancy but he has certainly improved in this production. Well worth the read although I would add that 3 hours is about right for this book, had it been longer it would have got very tedious IMPO.

Quite Good.

First off I like the narrator, Jack Nolan made the listening experience a joy.

This book is life story that tells the struggles of the Mendoza family, beginning in 1977 when Daniel is twelve and follows along with him as he learns about life the hard way and becoming growing a man is not always easy.

I enjoyed this story. I wanted to keep listening to the end.

recommend.
