Everyone knew his name. Nobody knew the truth....
When world-class chef Jules Lemar is found dead in his own home, detectives quickly rule out natural causes. A livid bruise encircling his neck leaves little doubt that he was murdered. What remains unclear is how—and why.
Detective Inspector George Larson and his team are confronted with a scene that offers few answers. There are no signs of a struggle, every door and window is locked, and no murder weapon can be found. With the evidence leading nowhere, the investigation stalls.
It is only when the team begins to peel back the layers of Lemar’s past that the case takes an unexpected turn. Beneath the public image of a celebrated chef lies a history that drags the investigation into uncharted territory—and toward a truth darker than any of them anticipated.
When Blood Runs Dry is the unputdownable sixth book in Jack Cartwright’s best-selling Deadly Wolds mystery series.
Fans of Jack Cartwright also enjoy books by JM Dalgliesh, LJ Ross, Ann Cleeves, JD Kirk, and Simon McCleave.

But despite emailing for my free audio book.. I still haven’t received it.. I would love to hear Freda’s story. I literally listened to every single book of Jack’s that is available on audible.
Captivating

As usual another brilliant book.

Not only are his plots brilliantly constructed, but his character development is exceptional. His characters are instantly memorable yet continue to evolve with the confidence and subtlety of a master storyteller.
Above all, his ability to describe everything from the seemingly mundane to the deeply profound is simply exquisite. Few authors make everyday moments feel so vivid and meaningful, and that, for me, is what sets his writing apart.
Listening to his work is a genuine pleasure especially with Graham Mack’s wonderful narration, I can’t recommend this series highly enough.
