Terrific

I have listened to many zombie books and this follows a normal pattern, it kept my focus throughout...

I have laughed and cringed through the book which isn’t a bad thing...

Narrator was great throughout also..

I must mention this was a free book to review. Glad I read it and would pay for the sequel (if this arrives)

Fricking awesome and so funny.

Loved this book. So unlike any zombie story... Average over weight dude trying to survive with zero witts or street smarts. Would definitely recommend this.

Brilliant lighthearted listen

My first review here, and it's a review off a book I got free.

I must admit I wasn't expecting a lot, especially as most of my listens are 20 hours plus, but I put it on in the car and instantly fell in love.

This is exactly what would happen to me if there was a zombie apocalypse when I was in my 20s

Lots of sillyness but over the top its just the right amount to keep it from being a serious read but not enough for it to just be shit.

Had it on in the car on a 3 hour trip and laughed my ass off pretty much the whole way.

If you want something relaxed with a good comedic flow then look no further.

I would have given it the extra star if it was longer but was over to damn quick 😂

An original take on a zombie story.

I really enjoyed this story, a welcome change from the usual American fodder. It might be a bit laddish for some tastes but I found it amusing.

Drier British take on Zombie Apocalypse

Unaware gamer takes on Zombies and actually lives. Good story. Pacing a little odd at times but that could have just been the narrator.

Awesome Zombie Tale

A quick fast paced thrilling story set in the Zombie universe that captivates from start to finish. The world building and narration by James Meunier are on point. This is my first read from this author and I was sucked in from the start. I was provided this free audiobook code by the author/narrator and this is my voluntary unbiased review.

Amazing!

This book was brilliant!
The voice acting was perfect.
It made be laugh, smile, chuckle.
It surprised me and made me upset.
The writing is wonderful and the story is unlike any I've read.
The main character, Tony, is relatable and his growth and change through the book should be a goal for everyone.

Hilarious and Irreverent!

Did I mention hilarious? "Riding the Bull" and " Songs of the zombie choir" are some of the BEST book quotes EVER! The narrator's crisp British accent juxtaposes the ridiculous hilarity brilliantly. Seriously. If this had been narrated by an American actor, it would only have been half as funny. It might even have been awkward. The "stiff upper lip" gave it solemnity, even while it lent to its Monty Python-esque humor. Suprememly funny without being crass or tawdry. Well done!

This book is Cormac McCarthy and Simon Pegg’s love child.

First of all, the narrator is perfect. He brings this book to life. Then the story, it’s like Cormac McCarthy rewrote The Road to be a Simon Pegg zombie movie, but without the boring parts. It’s funny and it’s fast paced. I may need to read the book now, but I’m afraid my internal monologue won’t have the cool accent and quick wit of James Meunier. Shame though, I’m going to need to read it with an American accent in my head. Now I need to go search out more by Nick James.

Fun listen!

I saw another review that said this book was crass and vulgar... well, it kinda is, but that's just because it's from the point of view of a 30-ish guy! This was kind of a nice change from other Zombie fiction, in that it was more about the characters than the actual zombies. All in all it was a fun listen- and the narrator is hilarious!

Excellent zombie tale!

This classic zombie tale is set apart from the rest by the humor inserted by the obviously talented author. The narrator does an awesome job as well.
