Story
The night uncovers all we wish not to see. A troubled man enters a dusky park before sunset. A young woman follows, hidden in shadow. Both have returned to the park to take back something the past has stolen from them, to make right six long years of suffering, and to find justice or perhaps redemption - or maybe they'll settle for some old-fashioned revenge. But something evil is alive and awake in those woods, creatures that care nothing for human motivations. They’re driven by their own insatiable need: a ravenous, bottomless hunger.

Story
Ray Bridges, a professional electronics salesman, is looking for love in all the strange places. He spends most nights sneaking into support group meetings for the disabled in order to satisfy his deepest, darkest desires - to hook up with unfortunate, down-on-their-luck women who’ve recently lost a limb. There's a name for Ray’s preference; it’s called acrotomophilia, a paraphilia involving amputees. Conflicted, Ray wishes he could change. But he can’t. That is...until he meets the perfect girl. Falls in love with her. Only problem: her arms and legs are attached.

Story
Two friends who have drifted apart go on an unintended journey when they take a drug that technically turns them into zombies for 72 hours. But near immortal cultists intent on journeying to the other side will stop at nothing to get the "Bloom" back, even if it means taking it from their undead bodies. As the two men run for their unlives, they test the bonds of friendship and learn the whole universe is depending on them. So we're probably screwed.

Two is a coincidence, but three is a pattern Lazarus can't ignore, especially since he fits the profile. Something is driving these men insane and making them murder their beloved families. Story
Plagued with the talent of seeing the ghosts of murder victims, Wayne Ballard is on a hunt to find the vigilante responsible. Wayne wasn’t sure if it was a gift or misfortune being able to see ghosts. It wouldn’t be so bad if the apparitions didn’t appear to look the way they did when they died. There were some that were headless while others may have been missing extremities or suffered from a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Sometimes it felt so unreal he thought maybe he was losing his mind, letting his imagination run wild.

Caught between the intentions of her stern father and business-minded mother, boys are the last thing on Luna’s mind, but this fact doesn’t detour mysterious bad boy Chance Welfrey from trying to gain her affection.

What Hides Within
This book was odd but enjoyable. It bounced around and I had a hard time tracking the story sometimes, but it did all come together in the end. I enjoyed the characters and I liked how nobody was sacred enough to remain undamaged. I love it when writers are able to ax the characters. I have a few books by Jason Parent and I am going to read them next because I appreciate the way he writes.
