When an upscale restaurant opens in Hastings Rock, Dashiell Dawson Dane (just Dash) and his friends are excited to get reservations for the soft open. After all, winter on the Oregon Coast is the quiet season, and Dash is looking forward to a little excitement. (And, of course, dessert.)

Instead, their arrival at the restaurant brings them face to face with Indira’s ex-husband, Mal. And when Mal ends up dead, Indira is the chief suspect.

Dash is sure he can prove Indira’s innocence, but before he has the chance, tragedy strikes Bobby’s family. With Bobby drawn back to Portland, Dash finds himself torn between helping his boyfriend and saving Indira.

I have been waiting and waiting on his one and I absolutely adored it. Well, it also hurt, but whats an Ashe novel without a little side of pain? Dash and Bobby are still growing and while I know they're absolutely in love, I also have to remind myself they are still new and figuring out how best to be a unit. This one was a lot of the work and it's very sweet to have it resolved. (One of the end scenes is just so perfection with Bobby laughing at Dash in his big goofy way). It was a journey, but it was such a well written one and perfectly resolved. (until the next time they need to figure it out).

The mystery was one that I absolutely did not guess in any meaningful way! There are a small number of suspects, but I did not really put together the who or the why so really enjoyed the big reveal. One day I just hope Dash is the one who gets to reveal. I'm so so so excited for Fox up next.
