Amanda Zimmerman, part of the Source Network against the Dark Malaise, spends months attempting to find her lost love George Davis, George has been on a secret mission preceding President Nixon's trip to China in 1972.
Efforts at the State Department and the White House prove fruitless.
The leader of the network, the Source, makes arrangements for Amanda and Mo both from NASA to travel to the Chinese space program with the president's party.
A Chinese resistance guide Li Hu brings her north.
Things unwind with CIA agent Brad Drake on the ground, and the Chinese call on Amanda to defect.
Her only mission is to find George and Drake knows where he is.
In a wild air and land trip around the Gobi, into Russia and Katmandu Amanda, Li Hu and Brad Drake link up with George in the Himalaya's.
Drake unloads the location of a CIA Top Secret plan ZR-KILLSWITCH, the removal of the President of the United States.
The Russians have stolen the KILLSWITCH documents and he tells Amanda they are located in a hotel in Chile.
Back to the United States and a CIA debriefing with Fletcher Knight Director of CIA.
Everything leads to the Watergate break-in and a full understanding of the Plumbers activities.
Events in the spring and summer of 1972 are evident to Amanda and George as the collide with the goals of CIA and are whisked off to Chile in the midst of a socialist revolution, now forced to become part of CIA.
