Summary

Curse the Day: The only magic Emma Hart believes in is caffeine and the power of the dryer to lose one sock per load. A chance encounter lands her in Spellbound, a town where supernaturals have been cursed to remain for centuries - probably not the best time for Emma to discover that she's actually a witch. Between the recent murder of the town's public defender, a goblin accused of theft, remedial witch classes, and the attention of one smoking hot vampire, Emma struggles to navigate this unfamiliar terrain without losing her mind...or her life.

Doom and Broom: Emma Hart hasn't had a moment's peace since her arrival in Spellbound. When a werewolf is found dead and Daniel is named as the prime suspect, Emma takes the initiative to prove that the angel's halo is firmly intact. The heat is on as Emma struggles to get a grip on her broomstick and identify the killer before it's too late.

Spell's Bells: When a sleeping dwarf is found entombed in a glass coffin and remedial witch Sophie is blamed, Emma Hart must defend her friend while trying to get to the bottom of the enchantment. The investigation lands Emma smack dab in the middle of Spellbound's dating scene. Emma knows it's time to kick her witchy skills up a notch if she expects to survive Thursday night speed dating and keep sweet Sophie from a life in paranormal prison.

Entertaining but ageist

I enjoy this series, but I want to warn other middle-aged women that these books are ageist, and that may be an issue for some. Over the course of the first several books, the protagonist has felt "ill" at the sight of an older woman's nude body, has stated that being invisible (actually invisible) is what it will be like when she's older, and has voiced inner/silent contempt for a mature woman in club clothes. There is usually at least one of these kinds of comments per book. It's annoying and off-putting. Otherwise, these books are entertaining and enjoyable.

Fun series

Good value and series starter. I liked the investigations mixed with the legal case in each book. All three were clean. I will look at getting next in series. This was a good value with first three books in one volume. The main character is good natured, smart and likeable.

Nice read to pass the time

You will enjoy these ditties. Nothing groundbreaking. But you will enjoy the characters and the excellent narration. It’s just that the mysteries are predictable. I’ll most likely read more of these because I enjoyed the story. It will leave a smile on your face.

I just love it!

You can really get into the story like you’re almost there. I catch myself laughing out loud to some of the remarks. It’s so far the best book I’ve heard in awhile. And will be listening to her other ones. Definitely worth it!

Fun Series!

Light fantasy listening. Just what I needed. I will continue with the rest of them.

Gay man = cross-dresser? Written in the 80s?

It's fluffy enough and cute, but the stereotypes are ridiculous and offensive. What's next, a lesbian character in flannel working as a mechanic?

Plus the main character is an idiot, aa clueless about the real world as she is about Spellbound.

The narrator is good. I'm glad she chose to eschew doing a Scottish accent rather than potentially perpetrate an outrage upon it.

👍👍👍👍👍

Enjoyable light paranormal sci-fi series. Emma continues to help her new friends and clients as she continues to improve her witch crafting skills. Good series. Well developed. Narrator does a great job.
