About this listen

To the west of Sapphire City is Ruby Point, a charming suburb that feels like a small town. This wealthy area is home to people who see themselves as above the average resident. Mayor Pearson, one of Ruby Point's wealthiest citizens, leads the town. He succeeded his father and plans for his eldest son to follow in his footsteps. The large mill on the outskirts, where the suburb gives way to wide-open farmland, produces flour, the area's primary product. However, the common people often whisper that the rich care more about their wealth than the actual needs of the community, sticking to old traditions like arranging marriages and throwing extravagant coming-of-age parties.

As fate would have it, the youngest son of the Pearson family has come of age, and his father insists he marry soon. Disheartened, he realizes he must choose a bride from the daughters of council members selected for this event. To go against his father's wishes would mean giving up his passion for the arts. Young Leigh, an artist at heart, is not interested in women and dreams of having a husband instead. But duty calls, and he makes a practical choice, picking a young woman who agrees to a loveless marriage.

Unfortunately for Leigh, another suitor already desires his chosen bride-one angered by the mayor's son stealing his love. With revenge in mind, this rival devises a plan to destroy the newlyweds' union before it can even begin. During the wedding celebrations, as Leigh and his bride open their gifts, one mysterious package without a sender catches Leigh's eye. Inside is a beautiful book, but as he flips through its pages, he finds himself trapped in a nightmare, a twisted reality that will only end when someone comes to save him.
