Great MM short story

I loved Enrique in this series so was really excited to get to hear his story. I really liked the scene setting and storyline of this novella but I would've loved more of Enrique and Alonso together. I thought Elaine did a great job with the romance and sexy bits of this MM story, I just wanted more of it! I would absolutely recommend this as part of the series and the narration was great it really added something to the story telling.

Enrique and Alonzo!

Enrique is a model who has landed his first commercial and is excited for the opportunity and that he gets to visit Venice. Alonzo is his tour guide and they have an immediate connection and chemistry and share one steamy evening together until Alonzo backs away. Will Enrique be able to convince Alonzo that it was love at first sight and he wants forever and not a fling?

I thought the narrator did a good job of bringing the story and the characters to life. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of the audiobook.

Accidental First M/M

I did not read the synopsis close enough and therefore I was quite surprised at the turn of this book. I requested this book since it was the next in the series and I’m beginning to appreciate the different narrators, locales and romance angles. I also appreciate that the author has made subtle references to the characters from the early books, thus showing how they are all intertwined. I suspect that she also dropped a hint about the character and conflict from the fourth book as well and I will certainly listen for the hints in the future.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

MM short story

I will have to honestly say, I don’t read or listen to many gay romance books, but this book will grab your attention from the first minute and keep it until the end. Running from a relationship because of fear and the unknown is a common issue in the real world, and this short story honed in on this very real issue. Daniel does an excellent job with the narrative and I’m looking forward to listening to the next short story.

WTF Alonzo and Rico

Another amazing short by Elaine Marie. This story takes us to Venice. Rico is heading this way to shoot a commerical. While there he meets Alonzo who is his tour guide. Sparks to seem to fly for Rico. Alonzo is a little slower in admitting his feelings. He is used to everyone leaving him. This little diddy shows Rico from being a playboy/ love and leave them guy to falling in love with Alonzo. With the help of his friends he works on winning his love back.
The narrator was new to me. Did a very good job, enjoyed listening to him. I do want to say the characters voices didn't really fluctuate nor any accents appear to much. But overall I'd listen to him again.

My Thoughts on WTF Venice

Once again Elaine Marie gave me a well written short story that was so easy to breeze through and enjoy. This is book three in the FYI series and I liked not only getting to see Enrique find his match, but also getting to revisit with Jillian and Roni from the previous two books. I was overall impressed with how satisfying this short story managed to be. I got my romance. I got nice friend bonding moments. I got some steamy moments. I felt like I got a lot in so little and it was well done. The narrator was also a good fit. He was really easy to listen to but I do wish he had a bit more difference in his tone for the different characters. I like it when all the characters have a different voice. All in all it was a good listen though.

Quick Listen

Enrique goes to Venice for a job and meets Alonzo, things get hit and heavy but Alonzo does not do long distance relationships. Good short story and M/M romance.

A quick fun steamy M/M romance

A quick fun steamy M/M romance

I enjoyed this little 1.5-hour travel romance. It wasn’t perfect, but it had a lot of great aspects that thoroughly kept my attention. This is my first story by Elaine Marie that I have experienced, and I plan to listen to another one soon. This short story tells of how the handsome Enrique goes to Venice for the first time for his first acting gig and meets his attractive tour guide Alonzo Gordiano. They start dating, but will this new relationship work out since Enrique has always been a player? The story is told only from Enrique’s first person perspective. There is some cursing and steamy bedroom scenes (not too many). I like the conversations between Enrique and Alonzo as they got to know each other, so Enrique's quick plunge into love was believable.

I had two minor problems with the story: a few missing or inaccurate details and a cliché concept that was repeated too often. The thing that most annoyed me is that it doesn’t say which city Enrique is leaving from to go to Venice. Based on the airplane flight duration, all that I could figure out was somewhere in Europe. I believe that the place is an important detail. Toward the end of the story, I finally is discovered that Enrique had left from Paris. In addition, I find it impossible to believe that Enrique is licensed to practice law everywhere in Europe. As for the annoyingly repeated cliché, the word “player” is repeated way too often, such as, “A player can’t get played” or “Is the player getting played?” Other than these two small complaints, the story was highly enjoyable.

The narrator did a very good job except for the incorrect choice to make Enrique sound American. It was quite confusing because every subtle hint from the text indicated that Enrique was European and probably French. Still, I loved the narrator's enthusiastic delivery of Enrique’s perspective. He has a beautiful, sexy voice. Thankfully, the narrator appropriately uses a faint but realistic Italian accent for Alonzo. Alonzo’s voice is very sexy as well. The narrator is also accomplished at the few female character voices in the story.

I received a free copy of the Audible audiobook from Audiobook Obsession, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Instant attraction

Every novella in the FYI <3 series is chock full of story, and “WTF Venice” does not disappoint! We first met Enrique in book one, and it’s only fitting that he would find instant attraction in the beautiful city of Venice. This is a M/M romance, and this couple has to overcome the fears that love and rejection can bring. The author consistently gives us that emotional connection to the characters, while providing an entertaining edge with “texting episodes” that carry through the series, giving that extra layer of humor and personality. A really enjoyable listening experience as Daniel James Lewis gives a great performance as Enrique and Alonzo.

Great MM Romance

While M/M romance really isn't a sub-genre I go for, I though this author did a pretty good job giving us a complete quick light romance that had some well written steamy parts in a tiny package. Of the FYI series, this one actually reference characters from the other books more so than any other novellas in this series. The Enrique did come off as a little bit whiney, but it wasn't too bad.

This narrator was pleasant to listen to and made this quick listen enjoyable.

WTF Venice

A cute and quick listen. Although this is book 3 I believe it can be read as a stand-alone. This is definitely a insta-Love book with a little bit of a misunderstanding that takes a minute to correct. Perfect ending for these two. I really enjoyed the narrator’s voice in this book too.

Text lingo!

I am in love with this series! Every one has put a smile on my face. Venice brings us Enrique who we know is Jillian's best friend. He goes to Venice for his first modeling job. While there, why not look for love? It could be right in front of him! Alonzo is Enrique's tour guide, but could he be more? This is a great story, full of uncertainty, decisions and love. Enrique is a great character, has a lot of love, is full of life, but when things aren't going his way, what should he do? Go back to Paris or stay in Venice and fight for his love? Give this short a listen, and as Daniel Jame Lewis narrates this book, you too will fall in love with these two and Venice!
