Story
The gap between what it's really like to be a woman and what people expect women to be is a primary cause of burnout, because we exhaust ourselves trying to close the space between the two. How can you 'love your body' when everything around you tells you you're inadequate? How do you 'lean in' at work when you're already giving 110 percent and aren't recognized for it? How can you live happily and healthily in a world that is constantly telling you you're too fat, too needy, too noisy and too selfish?

Half an audiobook on basketball, half an audiobook on management techniques, The Gold Standard captures Coach K's personal style and approach to getting different (and sometimes difficult) people to work hard and succeed in reaching a common goal. "In all forms of leadership, whether you are a coach, a CEO, or a parent, there are four words that, when said, can bring out the best in your team, your employees, and your family...I believe in you. These four words can mean the difference between a fear of failure and the courage to try".

Leadership is not about titles, status and power over people. Leaders are people who hold themselves accountable for recognising the potential in people and ideas and developing that potential. This is an audiobook for everyone who is ready to choose courage over comfort, make a difference and lead. When we dare to lead, we don't pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don't see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it and work to align authority and accountability.

Yet competition is in fact a good thing because it's about working toward excellence. Finish First is a wake-up call for business leaders, entrepreneurs, spouses, parents, and even students to stop settling for mediocre and strive to go for the win.

In The Way of Integrity, Beck presents a four-stage process that anyone can use to find integrity, and with it, a sense of purpose, emotional healing, and a life free of mental suffering. Much of what plagues us - people pleasing, staying in stale relationships, negative habits - all point to what happens when we are out of touch with what truly makes us feel whole. Inspired by The Divine Comedy, Beck uses Dante's classic hero's journey as a framework to break down the process of attaining personal integrity into small, manageable steps.

Summary
This program is read by the author.
Based on her inspiring, viral 2018 commencement speech to Barnard College’s graduates in New York City, New York Times best-selling author, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and FIFA World Cup champion Abby Wambach delivers her empowering rally cry for women to unleash their individual power, unite with their pack, and emerge victorious together.
Abby Wambach became a champion because of her incredible talent as a soccer player. She became an icon because of her remarkable wisdom as a leader. As the cocaptain of the 2015 Women’s World Cup Champion Team, she created a culture not just of excellence, but of honor, commitment, resilience, and sisterhood. She helped transform a group of individual women into one of the most successful, powerful, and united wolf packs of all time. In her retirement, Abby’s ready to do the same for her new team: all women everywhere.
In WOLFPACK, Abby’s message to women is: We have never been Little Red Riding Hood. We are the wolves. We must wander off the path and blaze a new one: together.
She insists women must let go of old rules of leadership that neither include or serve them. She’s created a new set of wolf pack rules to help women unleash their individual power, unite with their wolf pack, and change the landscape of their lives and world: from the family room to the board room to the White House.
- Make failure your fuel: Transform failure to wisdom and power.
- Lead from the bench: Lead from wherever you are.
- Champion each other: Claim each woman’s victory as your own.
- Demand the effing ball: Don’t ask permission: Take what you’ve earned.
In Abby’s vision, we are not Little Red Riding Hoods, staying on the path because we’re told to. We are the wolves, fighting for a better tomorrow for ourselves, our pack, and all the future wolves who will come after us.
Critic reviews
“Abby is a relatable revolutionary - with WOLFPACK, she inspires the confidence, leadership, and sisterhood we all so desperately need right now.” (Amy Schumer)
“I would follow Abby Wambach into any battlefield. I would follow her not because she is a bold leader (although she is one), but because she leads from BESIDE women, not from AHEAD of us...Abby Wambach is what the next level of women’s revolution will look like, and I’m DOWN.” (Elizabeth Gilbert, best-selling author of Eat, Pray, Love)

Desperate Teacher
I am a Middle School teacher in Utah. I go to work daily knowing these are the kiddos that will become our future. I love them, sassy faces and all! I ache for them to know how important they are. I get text messages on the weekly ( yes, I give them my personal cell number) about students wanting to end life because they feel alone. I am so excited to share this message with them. It is SO relevant. I wasn’t sure what else I could do for my kids until I read this. I need to create a Wolfpack for my students. Thank you Abby!

I recommend this book for any woman that is still breathing. You are not a Lone Ranger babe. We are stronger together. Abby breaks down the new rules that we as women must implement to create the community that we do desperately need.
*** audio is read by Abby and every single word pierced my soul. It is always 1,000 X’s better hearing the words straight from the author’s mouth. I could feel her emotions as she spoke and it moved me to my core.

If I had a daughter, I would sit and listen to this together - over and over again. Since I have two sons, I will sit with them and listen to this over and over again. This is a critical message for all genders to hear! Our entire world needs to embrace all 8 of these new rules ASAP in order for our species to survive the destruction that has been wrought by the old rules. Thank you Abby, for your courage to lead from the bench and everywhere you go. You are showing us all how it’s done!

Listened twice in the past 3 months and gifted it to 7 people in my wolfpack
I have never left a review for an audiobook before, but this one truly deserves it for all it has given me. I work in a competitive field where women are consistently made to feel at odds with each other, and at times I’ve fallen into that trap. I’m working to overcome that, and Abby’s wise words, so concise and powerful, have really given me an eye-opening perspective in something I knew in my heart to be true. EVERYONE should listen to this and keep this in their library, to revisit whenever you need to hear these wise words. I know I will. 🐺🐺🐺

Inspired!
When life has seemingly benched you, this is empowering.
After recovering from a heart condition brought in by stress, I returned to my Corporate job, only to find that Mgmt was “concerned” that my condition would return. I had all the Dr releases. They looked for a less stressful, more suitable role for me, with significant pay cut. If I had freedom to earn outside this admin duties position, it would allow me to make more income in a freelance world. I liked the admin idea for the opportunity to help new apprentices, and at the same time pursue a life of more purpose. I wanted to lead from the bench because I was committed to the team.
That felt like being benched, but I was willing to lead from there even at reduced capacity & salary, as long as I was not tied down, not kept from pursuing my purpose work. No, they wanted all of me for less, but keep me small. I was feeling defeated, knowing I ‘d go away feeling useless.....After reading this book, I know I take what I brought to the team with me, as I embark upon living my best life. New rule: Don’t let them tell you who you are.
As Abby says, I demanded the f’ng ball, in the form of severance, for myself, for those soon to be in my shoes & for those who will be inspired by my next act. Thanks, Abby. I got this in perfect timing. Today, I’m pointing at you and my girl Glennon. ♥️

My husband and I are huge soccer fans, but you don't have to like soccer or even understand it to appreciate the message that Abby's stories convey. She is an inspiration to ALL humans. I laughed, I cried, I was inspired. Hearing the story read by the author makes the message that much more impactful. Thank you Abby for sharing your voice.
