About this listen
Diana Gabaldon’s magnificent historical saga, begun with Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber, continues with this New York Times bestseller. Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first.
Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind. It has been 20 years since she and Jamie were forced to separate. Can she risk everything, maybe even her life, on a gamble that their love has withstood the long, rigorous test of time?
Critic reviews
"Luxuriantly detailed and featuring highly appealing characters and an authentic feel to the background that speaks well of her research and writing." ( Booklist)

What did you like most about Voyager?
I watched the first series based on the first book, Outlander, and then went on to read the books. I struggled to get into the previous one, Dragonfly In Amber, because it focused so much on the author's research into history rather than the story itself, but still enjoyed it. I'm so glad I persevered with it because this one, Voyager, was fantastic and more focused. I love the story and can visualise Claire and Jamie easily because I watched the series. What was one of the most memorable moments of Voyager?
The time travel parts and the love between Jamie and Claire are most memorable. What about Davina Porter’s performance did you like?
I've got used to the narrator and I like her very much now, although she's a little too posh and sometimes too enthusiastic, bright and lacking emotion when reading parts of the book that should seem more sad or frightening. She reads very slowly and sometimes I use my Audible app to speed things up when the book goes into descriptions of surroundings not essential to the story. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Quite a few - especially the love between them as I'm an old romantic. I wish it existed in real life!Any additional comments?
I struggle to find audio books that grab me emotionally and I often buy them and end up listening to them last thing at night as I'm going to sleep. A semi-boring book is a great cure for insomnia. But this book kept me awake with my heart beating fast until 2 and 3am. I had to stop listening to it because I was getting no sleep.Excellent read.
