In which Lord John, anticipating a voyage home to England after his brief stint as military Governor of Jamaica, instead finds himself on his way to Cuba, where the British navy is preparing to lay siege to Havana - and where the Dowager Duchess of Pardloe (aka John’s mother) is a guest (and potential hostage) of Governor Juan de Prado.

One of the two final novellas of Seven Stones to Stand or Fall. This collection of Outlander novellas are all dealing with the interesting side-stories and lacunae of the Outlander universe.

I enjoyed this short story. I do enjoy Lord John’s forays and this one did not disappoint.

Another excellent Lord John story with more history and information about the other characters from the series. A great performance from the narrator. I just wish it was a bit longer. Hope Diana Gabaldon writes more about Lord John along with her Outlander series

An exciting tome showing the bravery of the military and the positive outcome of men,s sharp minds. The book feels very real!

Not up to the standard of the other Outlander books. The performance is very dull and failed to keep my interest. I found my mind wandering and had to re-listen again and again . Not worth the time.
