Incredibly insightful!

Loved it! And I was so happy to find that it is narrated by the author! It would not have been the same without that! I especially loved the part where she guides through finding our "why"!

not so sure

I was so looking foward to this book listend to it on Audible. But it was a let down. love her and her honesty, NOT enough tips in how to do it more of her story and life coaching...I want to know how to Vlog rather than what stops you. sad it did not deliver for me.

I really recommend this book... I love it ❤

First of all, I really appreciate the way Amy categorized the whole chapters in the book (from what you need to know, to what you're supposed to know).

It relates to me in so many aspects. Thanks for making everything clear to me now. I'll try my best to continue Vlogging like a Boss. 💪🏽😎👍🏽

I listened several times over!

I have no vested interest in listening to this audiobook other than to learn from other peoples experiences on how to vlog effectively! I looked at hours of YouTube videos and tried to face my anxieties about talking to a non entity. This book is written by a real person who has experienced it all. Thank you!

A good but in other ways disappointing book

The first few chapters were super annoying, over-emotional, like the typical school girl kind of manner; and her voice, being too much blabbering and self-love, EVENTUALLY seemed to simmer down into a far better, less emotional, practical account on this subject, with some good tips and meaningful content.

I very nearly returned this book, it has to be said; but I hung in there, and luckily it simmered down into a far more adult-like book and a better account of her journey into social media.

PLEASE, when young, particularly female narrators, read audiobooks, can you turn down the immature side a little, and IMAGINE the 'adults' who will often be listening to your voice. Thank you! We aren't juveniles who need educating in emotions and the hormonal ups and downs of young girls (and no offence to girls that are not like this. I have heard a couple of decent audiobooks by young women/girls that were absolutely fine......in fact I only decided on buying the book based on the interview I heard with Dave Asprey's 'Bulletproof Radio' podcasts, which I listen to often. Amy Schmittauer was featured on one of his shows and came across well, then. Such a shame she had to go into emotional overdrive when she had the floor to herself!

Well presented actionable advice

I am fairly new to Amy having discovered her after she got married and changed her name. I had watched many videos and knowing I wanted to start a channel I knew her book would be just what I needed because her video content is always on point. Thank you Amy x

speechless

loved listening to this. At finished I was unsure of what I could learn and gain from Amy with me being a mom of 2, trying to get more organised, wanting to simplify my life and make it better for me and my family and me being a video gamer with my own YouTube channel. It took me a while (about 3 months) to decide weather I needed to listen to Amy's book. Now I wish I hadn't taken so long. I have learnt so much even though I couldn't always concentrate on it (kids) I have taken alot from Amy I will be listening again and **wispers** I might also by her book in the near funture. keep doing what you doing. :)

I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK!!! Amy gives you the most amazing advice on how to get started. If you're thinking about starting a vlog, or if your current vlog is struggling, this is the book you need. Amy goes step-by-step through the actions that you need to take to make your vlog unbelievably awesome. I started recording before I ever finished the book. Now for editing, and to hit PUBLISH! Thank you, Amy!

Girl version of Gary vee(to an extent)

Love this girl! Great info! Love when authors narrate their own books especially when I watch them on YouTube. She reminds me of Gary vee. Direct, smart, real, and funny.I recommend this book to any youtuber, seasoned and new. One day I will be a guest/ interviewee(my YouTube channel: Life with Mel and Jen)on her channel because of her book and videos.

some good advice, interrupted by annoying sidebars

When she finally gets around to the practical advice for making videos, it's gold. Far too much posturing and sidetracking with stories that are supposed to impress or just allow her to have fun. listen at double speed to get to the good parts

Felt like I was being coached

This is a great book! I was very encouraged to start blogging and equipped to start well. I have a strategy so I know my next steps. Although I am still nervous to start vlogging I know I can go back and listen as Amy coaches me through my hang ups.

Inspiring and personal with every word...

Amy makes everything she shares enjoyable to consume in whatever way she has fashioned it. 'Vlog Like a Boss' is no exception. From beginning to end this book will motivate you to push forward in whatever journey you are taking as a content creator. She is funny, transparent, and very knowledgeable. And when this book is all over and you hear her reading the acknowledgements with such authentic emotion, you just might cry too.

Love Amy

Even though I don't plan to be a vlogger anytime soon (or ever), I love Amy's motivational and self-help youtube videos and this book didn't fail to dissapoint.

More motivation than how to

There is some good information that tells you why it's important to be consistent and what that means. There is some very basics like figuring out your why and basic equipment advice. There is no steps or how to set up and put out a video or channel. No strategy. No how to fit it all in, or anything of the like.

Long winded self serving content

I had hoped for some real step by step methods on how to Vlog. Instead much of the book seemed to be about her and her relationships. I remember little about the book other than how similar it was to root canal surgery.

meh.

the book was meh, about half of the book was her going on these little interior dialogue quips that were honestly nothing but annoying. she cries for the last few minutes of the book and it was kind of embarrassing to listen to. a little less than half of the book was actually good usable content, and if we could get a shortened version of the book with just that in it, it probably would have been a decent book. every single time she went on one of those interior dialogue quips I felt the need to hit the fast-forward button, they were so dumb and dizzy blonde girl sounding that it really made me cringe. kind of seems like the biggest accomplishment in her life is the 5-minute ride to the airport she gave to Gary vaynerchuk. the book is very aimed for women, so as a guy probably avoid this one and read a different book.
