The infamous Canterbury Estate in Bradford, a hotbed of crime, drink and drugs, was a law unto itself in the '70s. The first title in a series of gritty family sagas, Our Vinnie accounts the dramatic true story of a brother's determination to avenge his younger sister's rape. Josie was just 11 when her Vinnie, then 14, was taken away to a detention centre.

Billy's mother is dead. He knows-because he reads about it in magazines-that people die every day in ways that are more random and tragic and stupid than hers, but for nineteen-year-old Billy and his little brother, Oscar, their mother's death in a bungled street robbery is the most random and tragic and stupid thing that could possibly have happened to them.

This is a love story. But not every love story is the same. Boy meets girl and girl falls for boy - that much is true. But when Sienna meets Nick it's not the way it happens in love stories: it's because of a squirrel on water skis.... She sees Nick's dangerous brown eyes and thinks don't. Fall. Into. Them. Who will be there to catch Sienna when she falls? She is so fragile. She has so many secrets, and he is not that serious.... Funny and sad, this is the story of two people destined never to come together in the great love affair they crave.

Summary
Hi, I'm God. And I have a confession to make. I live with my two best friends and the girl of my dreams, Persephone. When the opportunity knocks, we are usually down the pub having a few drinks, or we'll hang out in Christchurch Park until it gets dark then go home to do college stuff. Even though I struggle a bit financially, life is good, carefree. Well, they were. Things have started going downhill recently, from the moment I started killing people.

Has Matthew Cash reinvented farce?
This book sucked me in from the get go. It has some surprising twists and turns, however as it unfolded I found it to be a bit ridiculous and unbelievable. But this may have been the authors intention and it intrigued me enough to want to know the outcome.
The narrator Mark Thomas was excellent. He moved the story along with an ease that drew me in and kept me with him until the end. His characterisation was subtle and worked brilliantly for the story. In truth, I may not have been as enthusiastic had I read the book. Mark Thomas made this for me.

Fantastic tale of love and revenge
What did you like most about Virgin and the Hunter?
Superb tale of love, relationships, and revenge. Wonderful chemistry between the main characters, and a bond that only good friends could possess. The dialogue is natural, and Goddard the hero is not without his vulnerabilities, but ultimately has the strength to punish.

Strannge
The story was told by the killer. He is touched. the stuff he does almost seems justifiable the way he tells it.
