Hi, I'm Jackson Blackwell. Professional bad guy, minor god, and most importantly, the Shadow Master. I'm the multiverse's first, best, and… ahem, only, villain advisor. I slither into other gods' universes and do what i do best: make their villains better. For profit and personal power, that is. I'm a villain after all.

Sadly, even the infamous Shadow Master can get double crossed. Trapped in a horribly generic fantasy realm and left to die, I must use my skills and wits to exploit the rules, mock genre flaws, undermine authority, and win the day.

Oh yeah, you read that right. In these books—in my books—the bad guys can win.

I will admit after the first chapter I assumed it was going to be a rip off of C T Phipps but it quickly turned into a compelling narrative in it's own right.

the characters were engaging and the story flows nicely with some good twists and turns, I also like how it plays off fantasy tropes without falling into the "anti-trope" trap that so often ruins good satire.

narration is fantastic.

An enjoyable book

Loved this book, think it’s one of the funniest books I have ever read. The narrator is so good and really has a villainous tone to his voice which just adds to the storyline. Would highly recommend this book to any fans of fantasy, sci-fi or anyone into pop culture that enjoys dark humour.

Hilarious!

Loved it went and got the second one straight away. a really good introduction into the universe of the shadow master. a villain that narrates his own tale and talks to the audience and schools villains and hero's and npc's alike

Very easy to listen to, endlessly entertaining and often funny.
the worst I could say about it is that there are occasionally arbitrary or tenuous jumps, but for me it was a forgivable compromise to provide such an engaging and listenable tale.

A great romp
