Summary
Der unscheinbare und körperlich missgestaltete Sohn eines Gastwirts, Christian Wolf, gerät aus Geldnot auf die schiefe Bahn. Zuerst treibt er als Wilddieb sein Unwesen und kommt ins Zuchthaus und schließlich zur Strafarbeit auf eine Festung. Anschließend möchte er einer geregelten Arbeit nachgehen, erhält jedoch keine Anstellung. Er wird wieder kriminell und begeht Verbrechen nicht mehr nur aus Not, sondern vorsätzlich. Um einer weiteren Festnahme zu entgehen, wird er schließlich zum Mörder...
