The narration is great, but maaaan, I just don't see redeeming qualities in the male character. He is a chauvinistic asshole who doesn't respect or appreciate his supposed mate's rights to decide or think for herself. I couldn't get on with this one. And when I got to him saying the 7 year old will just have to do her job no matter the sacrifice, I had enough. Not for me this time
