About this listen

Valor on the Move: Growing up gay in the White House hasn't been easy for Rafael Castillo. But once his family's out of the spotlight, he can be honest with his conservative parents about his sexuality and his dream of being a chef.

It's definitely not part of Rafa's plan to get a new Secret Service agent who's a walking wet dream, but he's made it this long keeping his desires to himself.

Shane's never had room for romance in his life, and he'd certainly never cross that line with a protectee. Keeping Rafa safe at any cost is Shane's mission. But as Rafa gets under his skin, will they both put their hearts on the line?

Test of Valor: With his father no longer president, Rafa Castillo can finally be with ex-Secret Service agent Shane Kendrick. Eager to get away from the questions and judgement, Rafa and Shane are building a new life together in Australia.

Now they just have to get through a visit from the former president and first lady. Rafa's parents certainly don't approve of his romance with 40-year-old Shane, and they're determined to make him see reason. Shane and Rafa just want a normal life together - but when they must suddenly battle for survival, they fight to prove their fierce love can withstand any threat.

Contains mature themes.

This was a beautiful and captivating love story over 2 fabulous books and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. The 3rd act dramas had me crying and the ending HEA was delightful.

The narration was great for the most part, but I don’t think the narrators have ever heard an Australian accent because they sounded nothing like AU accents and the slang wasn’t on point. They had too much 18th century Cockney in them and had me laughing.

Absolutely excellent 👏👏👏

Young man fall in love with an older man and it takes a nasty accident to get the family's approval. Exciting all the way through and it will keep you listening late into the night 🌙 well written and well narrated, enjoy.

A story of love 💘

Ok, before I start on the story, I have to talk about the narrator because normally I love Iggy. My issue is the second book involves accents and honestly, Iggy can't do Aussie accents - full stop. You can't even tell it's supposed to be Australian, it's more of a weird mix of cockney English, Welsh, Scottish and the odd Aussie word. (I'm British and this is how people who can't do UK accents sound. like nails down a chalk board) Very weird and off putting.

Ok, story. Book one is decent. Steamy. Age gap. set in the white house and almost had some Red, White and Royal Blue vibes right at the start. The main action event is the middle was a bit too too unrealistic, but it was fine.

Book 2. Parents are awful. The story is more more angsty. The entire story line is about poor communication. Honestly, I felt like book two was more like an extended epilogue. Anyway, I listened to both but this isn't the best of her work. She's an excellent author- a regular read for me. If this is your first book from this author and you liked this, her other books are even better. If you didn't like this, she's honestly worth another try!

Book 1- 3.5 stars Book 2- 2.5 max
