I really loved this story. I think it was told with deep understanding and empathy but also with a wonderful wit capable of noticing the tiny moments of life whether sad or funny. I also loved the narration, he told the story brilliantly.

If you could sum up Us in three words, what would they be?

PloddingThoughtfulReflective

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The train journey in Italy which leads to a night in the cells.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, the plot wasn't fast paced enough for that.

Any additional comments?

I found this a very thoughtful book about how people end up with each other, what brought them together, what keeps them together and how over time what keeps them together is possibly no longer relevant, and what they do about this.

A plodding book, like the main character

What made the experience of listening to Us the most enjoyable?

Really like David Nichols and think this is one if his best. Funny and heart-warming at times. The father son relationship was really well written - I was actually cringing at the dad's' behaviour at times! Great listen which I found hard to put down !

I don't usually read 'this type of book'. I just got it on a whim (and I think in a sale!). I actually enjoyed it immensely, the way it took a very ordinary family facing a divorce and broke down their quite human, ordinary life was very interesting and gave me pause for thought on what I take for granted as right and how things should be. I felt the characters were very well written and human.

Unexpectedly interesting

Terrific narrator. Suited the character well and great with the others too. All a bit close to home for many this age perhaps....

Believable
