The goal of the Up! Daily Devotional series has always been to help you draw near to God, and that remains true today. The foundational scripture for this goal is James 4:8 NASB: "Draw near to God and he will draw near to you."
Coming to God is not as hard as most people think. We are made with an unfulfilled part of us that can only be satisfied by our Creator. He has a tremendous love for each of us as individuals; we are the object of his affection.
He has made a way to remove the barrier of sin that separates us from his holy presence, by sacrificing his only son.
The entire verse reads like this: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." (James 4:8 NASB)
Do you long to be cleansed of your sins? Do you wish for a pure heart?
