About this listen

Rule number one: Don't fall in love with your family's sworn enemy.

Taylor Hollis brought home gold at the Olympics, then quit competitive skating at the height of his career.

Four years later, he lives a quiet life teaching figure skating classes and looking for the perfect guy with whom to settle down and build a family.

When the Evanston River Otters hire Taylor to take part in a feel-good media piece, he’ll have to defy his father and work with the son of the man he detests.

And his one weakness is a hot older guy who’s good with kids.

Rule number two: Choose your loyalties wisely.

Last season, Jamie Walsh left the Chicago Windstorm after a nasty divorce and falling out with his linemate.

Now he’s getting settled as a new forward for the Otters.

His biggest priority is his five-year-old daughter, Ava, but he can’t ignore how attractive he finds her skating teacher.

The only man he’s ever been interested in.

The more time they spend together, the harder it is for Jamie to ignore his feelings.

Too bad Taylor’s father has always blamed Jamie’s dad for ruining his hockey career.

Jamie and Taylor are perfect for one another but they’ll have to ignore both of their families’ unwritten rules if they let themselves fall in love with the enemy.

Trigger warning: frank discussion of eating disorders and past infidelity of secondary characters.

Story: Taylor and Jamie were such a great couple! I loved everything about their story and they are definitely among my Brigham's favorites! Taylor's personality and prickly edges made me love him from the get go and he was a perfect match for a slightly flailing Jamie and his newfound attraction. The chemistry was visible from the get go and the story kept me hooked from the start. Loved it!
Narration: Great performance. Elevated the story without overshadowing it in any way.

I really like this hockey series and Jamie and Taylor were such a cute couple. It starts up by being an enemies to lovers story. Their dads had a nasty falling out years ago which has affected their soon. Jamie and Taylor meets at the Olympics four years ago where Jamie sees Taylor skate and gets a crush on him but they end up having a public argument. scroll forward four years and Jamie still have a crush on him and when Taylor comes to work with the hockey team, it gives them a chance to get to know each other. They end up in a friends with benefits arrangement but it quickly becomes clear that they have feelings for each other but they both have issues to work through. I thought it was a great story and I enjoyed the narration.

Another great addition to the series. This one had the potential to be high angst but was actually the sweetest story.
Enemies to lovers although mainly through a family feud that could have impacted the story had the author decided to take things in a different direction.
High heat with numerous intimate scenes, that fit well with Jamie's bisexual awakening, and these nestled side by side with the family scenes with Ava (Jamie's daughter) which were achingly sweet.
Excellent performance has this going into my favourites for next time I need a feel good pick me up.

MM, Bi Awakening, Insta Attraction, Sports Themed, Contemporary, Romance. Another fantastic installment in this fantastic series that can be enjoyed as a stand-alone but when enjoyed as part of the series it allows you more of an understanding of the team dynamics. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the audiobook and love how the characters have been brought to life. Guaranteed HEA.

I really like this hockey series and that's why I was looking forward to this audiobook. This time it's a story of enemies to lovers. Jamie, a hockey player, met Taylor, a figure skater, at the Olympics, but that's when they had a falling out. That's not the only family drama, though, because there's also the drama between their fathers and Jamie's very own family drama with his ex-wife.
I totally liked Taylor and Jamie. Jamie's story is really heartbreaking, but he absolutely lovingly takes care of his five-year-old daughter, Ava, who is totally adorable. Taylor is also very likable and the two meet again when Ava gets training lessons from Taylor.
The two have chemistry from the moment they meet, but they both want to keep it casual. And the two make a cute couple! But how do you act when feelings suddenly come into play?
I liked the story, it was entertaining, has some drama, but mostly without angst. And I was happy to see the characters from the previous volumes again. I enjoyed the scenes on the ice and wish there could have been more.

James Edward Jones gave a solid performance. I especially liked his voice for Ava, as well as the accent he gives to the Candian Gabriel.
