About this listen

A spin-off from the number one Amazon best sellers A Not So Meet Cute and So Not Meant to Be and narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, USA Today best-selling author Meghan Quinn brings you a heartwarming yet hilarious full-length novel on what life is like after the happily ever after.

Ryot Bisley is my husband. Yes, the former third baseman for the Chicago Rebels and absolute heartthrob of the Windy City. That Ryot Bisley.

The first time I ran into him, he was grumpy, a horrific host, and left me on his sofa with nothing but a nylon baseball flag to use as a blanket.

The second time, he reluctantly bought me dinner, stared at my chest the entire night, and still sported that permanent frown.

The third time.... Well, that was a game changer. His smile captured me, his teasing charmed me, and his touches excited me.

So when he was called up to the majors that didn’t stop us from knocking it out of the park and all the way down the aisle.

Eleven years later...I’d love to say we’re happy as ever, but the man who sent me dirty text messages every day is long gone and Mr. Frowny Face is back.

He’s so focused on trying to build a life after baseball that he doesn’t see the life we’ve already created together...so I make the hard decision and serve him divorce papers.

Problem is...my husband refuses to accept those papers. Instead, he has a new game plan that makes untying the knot of our marriage a little tricky. And just when I thought I wanted to be traded...he's slowly, tantalizingly roping me back in.

Meghan Quinn has written another fantastic novel with Untying the Knot. It's a story that's focus is on a married couple in a long established relationship. One I would personally like to see more of in the romance world. Myla and Ryot's story covers the entirety of their relationship. Starting from the moment it begins to fall apart and filling in the gaps for the reader of how they got to that point in the first place. Alongside how they move on from the realisation their marriage is failing.

Both Hero and heroine are really likeable characters, Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter's duet narration of the audiobook is the perfect portrayal of the emotional whirlwind that this story is. Jason especially impressed me with how he voiced Ryot's frustration and hurt that he couldn't understand Myla's decision to end their marriage. With Stella portraying Myla's hurt that her husband of 12 years, simply doesn't know her, doesn't see her anymore.

Meghan wrote a truly heart breaking backstory for Myla, what that woman has been through, wow. You simply cannot help but want everything to work out right for her. To ensure she has her happily ever after within her own sense of self worth. Add in appearances from other characters we know and love, including JP and Kelsey's wedding, and two great additional secondary characters in Nichole and Banner, that is so much to love about this book. But this is a Meghan book after all and of course there is lots of humorous moments dotted throughout. Not forgetting the chemistry in 'those' moments... OMG they are HOT!!!!!!!

Untying the Knot is right up there amongst my favourites of Meghan's books and one I will absolutely revisit again. With plenty of story, depth of character, emotional angst and a splash of humour there isn't anything not to love about this one.

Oh my word - loved, loved, loved. It’s always good to see the happy ever after, or in this case the not so happy ever after. The story bounces back and forth from when Myla and Ryot met 11 years previously, to when they reconnected 4 years later, to when they separate 7 years after that, which is in fact the present day. I very much had mixed feelings about Myla from the get-go. Whereas Ryot could do no wrong, (in my eyes he was perfect), Myla was a bit of a wild card from the get-go. But, of course as the story progressed my feelings became more and more caught up with all the emotion, so much emotion, I was literally sobbing in places, questioning why I would put myself through this. I felt it was so so sad. I was upset for both Ryot and Myla, that things had gone so wrong, and together they had let things progress so far. Then, proving why she’s a bestselling author, and one of my favourite writers, Meghan Quinn gave me all the feels, and I was in my happy (ish) place again, as together they fight for what could be. What an emotional rollercoaster ride of emotions, but still one of the best rides I’ve been on this year. Amazing story, fantastic writing, and narration that wrapped all my emotions in a blanket and squeezed out all my feelings. Thank you Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, perfection personified.

The way Megan writes is so immersivley exceptional. I have yet to find another author who is able to elicit the same depth of emotion I feel when I read her words. This book was no exception. The humour hit as intended, but the raw pain not only had me tearing up but actually had me feeling bereft while forming a deep connection to the characters. Brilliant.
The narration was outstanding.

Megan Quinns style is unmatched

After an injury forced Ryot to retire from baseball before he was ready, he was struggling trying to determine what direction he wanted his future to take. When his next career move required relocating to California, he didn’t think of how it would affect his wife, Myra. He believed that everything was fine until she served him with divorce papers and now, he is determined to do whatever is necessary to win her back.

Myra has always supported Ryot and his career but since moving to California she has never felt more alone. She has a difficult past where no one ever supported and put her first and she wasn’t about to let that happen again. She thought Ryot would always be there for her and feels he is too consumed by his career but when he realizes his mistakes will she be willing to open her heart and let him show her that he can be the man she needs him to be.

Ryot and Myra take us on an emotional agreement as the one thing that was never in doubt was their love for each other. The situation they find themselves in is a wake-up call and forces them to remember the love they share and what truly matters. The narrators were a perfect choice for the story as they brought out all the angst, humor, and love between the characters.

Ryot and Myra!
