About this listen

X-Men meets The Handmaid's Tale in the second instalment in an epic and romantic YA fantasy trilogy perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Victoria Aveyard's The Red Queen, Netflix's Stranger Things and Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows.

They want to find me. I will find them first.

Juliette has escaped. She has found the headquarters of the rebel resistance – and people like her. People with gifts. She is free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam.

But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch. Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this heart-racing sequel to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heartand the life of those she loves.

Great premise for the story.
Great character ideas.
Really great at demonstrating how unstable the female lead is by use of language.
However, that language is used way too often and is a real strain to get through.
If have to hear her say ‘I don’t understand’ or ‘I am confused’ again I really am going to scream.
She doesn’t seem to learn from her mistakes, and is CONSTANTLY in the ‘damsel’ position when she has literally the capacity to kill and overpower everyone else. SIGH.
The pacing is also mind numbing, I want to get in the book and yell at everyone.
I’m really struggling to finish it.

As a good point, the narration is superb, which is rare these days.

Adding ‘what do you mean?’ and ‘what are you talking about?’ to the list of phrases that are WAY WAY WAY TOO OVER USED.

The female lead is incredibly irritating.

I love the book in general, however this is my first time reading it with an audiobook. I love it i just feel like the performance could of been more passionate and especially with relations of different people and how they act. Overall i love the book and the audio but i also noticed how the person changed words to different ones. (Eg she wore shorts but the audiobook said “she wore pants” which threw me off) But i dont like how there is a intro and then it says chapter one, then chapter 2 is actually chapter 1 which gets confusing why not call it “acknowledgements” or the actual name and not a chapter? 8/10

Love it!

The crying, screaming, calmness. Anger, betrayal. Everything is so audible in her voice. Thats a pun because this app is called Audible😃

I love the voice acting
