Cary Sutton isn’t surprised when his boyfriend walks out on him during a holiday in Cornwall at Christmas. It’s far from the first time that someone's accused him of being cold—both inside and out. Cary’s spent his whole life feeling like he’s separated from the world by a sheet of glass. Nothing touches him. Nothing moves him.

Which is why it’s so strange to find himself drawn to a small Cornish beach and the man he meets there. Sigurd Arvesen is handsome and charming, but he also holds a secret—one that’s big enough to overturn Cary’s whole world.

Sigurd is a centuries-old dragon, and Cary is his mate.

Whisked into Sigurd’s magical world, Cary meets strange and wonderful creatures that he’s only ever read about in books. The mystical realm is both enchanting and dark, but even scarier are the warm feelings that Sigurd brings out in Cary.

What will happen when Christmas Eve dawns and Cary must go home?

From bestselling author Lily Morton comes a magical Christmas story about a lonely dragon and his one true love.

I absolutely fell in love with this book.
The characters are wonderful, there's amazing descriptions that made feel as though I were completely immersed in Wales, and the magic world building was amazing.
Sig and Cary were absolutely beautiful and their love story played out as a much loved tale of old times.
Joel Leslie did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.

Beautiful

I really loved this book. Set in Cornwall our main characters meet when Cary stumbles into a hidden world of fantastical creatures. Joel Leslie does a brilliant job of bringing this new world to life and giving the characters a voice. Plenty to keep the listener hooked from start to finish. As with most of Lily Morton's books the main characters are beautifully rounded and complex and thier romance is center stage. Well worth a listen.

A wonderful fantasy romance.

I love Lily Morton writing fantasy! Under Gorse and Stone has most of the Lily Morton tropes I adore, the hurt/comfort is always beautifully done, but this fated mates aspect is wonderful. Sigurd's character is fascinating and I was thrilled every time more of his story was revealed.

The audio version of Under Gorse and Stone is nicely performed by Joel Leslie.

A Lily Morton Fantasy!

Exactly what you expect & want from a Lily Morton audiobook: a swoony story narrated by Joel Leslie!

I listened to this well after Christmas, but it totally still fits the wintery vibes of the start of the new year!

I’m such a sucker for fated mates, let alone when it involves a dragon, so I knew I would love this but I really enjoyed the magical world building in addition to the instant chemistry romance. It was also really funny to me how everyone/every creature they would meet would be like “ahh yes the dragons mate!” But before they could say “mate” Sigurd would like cough over them and be like “my very good friend” lolllll

The opening chapter is a bit of a “wait what?!” but it all becomes clear pretty quickly! So if you can make it to chapter 2, it all starts to come together from there!

Another swoony Lily Morton romance!

An absolutely gorgeous Christmas story. It's truly magical and I enjoyed every moment.
No angst, just a lovely gentle story of a man discovering the wonders and folktales of Cornwall and falling in love along the way.

There's possibilities for several sequels, so I'm excited for next Christmas' offering.

A wonderful performance by Joel Leslie as usual.

Glorious
