The Monarchs, the most powerful sacred artists on Cradle, rule with unquestioned authority. They are mysterious and distant, and catching a glimpse of one is privilege enough for a lifetime. To meet one is to come face-to-face with a legend.

The Uncrowned King tournament.

Amazing book, amazing performance, amazing overall! I’m currently binging through the whole series and then m gonna be devastated when that’s no longer an option

That was the most piss taking cliffhanger in the history of cradle. If I dont get a sequel soon blood will be spilled.

Book was a marvel, naration like usual 😊

Packed full of intense action and world shaking developments, Uncrowned is a cracking entry to the series.

Unfortunately we have hit that point where it’s tough to contain a story arc in a single book, so the cliffhanger is sudden and brutal, but I’ve read Wintersteel (which happens to be my favourite) and totally recommend it.

If I recall from my previous read through, the books are most satisfying if you read them in pairs from this book onwards.

So damned good!

The tournament theme really suits the setting, and I also enjoyed the nice twists towards the end.

It was great to see some old friends appear again, on the other hand the experience was not balanced. Sometimes I just got the feeling, the author forgets about following up on what happens with the other.

Travis Baldree's stellar performance brought each and every scene to life again.

Full of nice surprises

So, my view on cliffhanger endings is that they must be accompanied by some actual resolution in the story you're telling. It's fine to leave a cliffhanger to the next book if the main thrust of the plot you've been following so far is taken care of, but we do not even get that with Uncrowned.

I'd have honestly rather waited another few months and have Will put a real ending on this one.

Otherwise good book marred by unsatisfying ending
