About this listen

Loving one meant losing the other...

I don't know how it happened. But everything got complicated. So complicated. I don't know where it all started, all I know is that it all fell apart.

Two men have my heart. Loving them both made me lose one. Now, I may lose the other.

Hearts are fragile. And mine still beats for two. Can we save what we once had? Or is it too unconventional?

Please note: This book was previously released as The Island and has been rewritten. This audiobook cannot be listened to as a stand-alone; it is the conclusion to Unexpected. No MM action - all the attention is on her.

I absolutely loved this storyline. It shows the conflicting dynamic of a relationship with 3 people to think of. Great writing skills from Alyne. Isabella gives a fantastic performance.

I would recommend this story to listeners who like a lot of angst. It's not a stand alone, you need to read Unexpected (the first in The Island Duet) before this one. Unexpected did a great job of showing the relationship evolve and incorporating the significance of the number three. I think that made the characters' actions in the last scenes of Unexpected and most of Unconventional not seem logical.

Isabella Starr did a good job with the narration. The editing wasn't always smooth, but it wouldn't prevent me from recommending listening to it. It would have been nice to have two or three narrators to voice the different points of view and make the characters stand out from each other a little more.

I enjoyed the first book much more, but I was glad that this started right where book 1 gave us a cliffhanger! This one was more issues of keeping them apart than something where they faced an issue together. I liked the ending but would have preferred less turmoil. The narrator was excellent again!

Unconventional, the second book in The Island Duet series, is sweet and steamy Ménage romance. I'm actually surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. The relationship dynamic between the characters is tastefully done, genuine, and natural. Alyne Hart has done an incredible job with the plot and character development; I was hooked from start to finish.

Isabella Starr's narration is excellent; she did a fantastic job with the characters' connection and emotions, bringing them to life. I really enjoyed this story, and recommend it.

Loved it!

After listening to Unexpected, I was in need of knowing what was going to happen to Gabe, Michael and Amie! Insecurities, words spoken, and hurt feelings left us with Michael living the three, and now a new normal is trying to be found. Gabe and Amie become a couple and Michael seeks a life that fulfills him. But will any of them find their happiness without being together? This is a story that rips your heart out and slowly puts it back together. I was sad, I was frustrated and just wanted them to find their way back. Life is not always that easy though and their struggles were real. I love stories that give real circumstances with real feelings and Alyne Hart has hit her mark. It is a wonderful ending to this duet and I was completely satisfied!

Isabella Star continues her fabulous narration of this story. I am a big fan of hers and find her voice so easy to listen to. Each character is easy to distinguish and she adds feelings and emotions that tug at your soul. This is a beautiful performance.
