Story is lost in the weeds; hyperfocused on game theory & mechanics, which wouldn’t be so bad if everything wasn’t explained over & over in nauseating detail by increasingly annoying characters

Kept picking this up only to put it down again on kindle; now it’s out on audio I thought that would help me get through it…then I heard the narrator’s character voices for the female dwarves…so bad it’s laughable but I stuck with it. Then hearing his voice for their helper I had to change playback speed but nothing explains it, it’s SO bad at every speed!? Incredible annoying and disappointing.

My love of the series ends not with a bang, but a whimper; enthusiasm & interest dashed against the rocks

chaps repeat thrmselves in circles and nothing rlly happens chars dont behave how you would expect and it felt at times someone else wrote this book

Enjoyed this series up to book 9. The last 2 books I purchased at the same time. Book 10 I found I skipped whole chapters and close to half of the book.
Almost zero progress from Max, with story focusing on characters nobody cares about. His daughters progress through the tower etc.
I'm I've half way through this book and it just is more of the same. FAR too much pointless drawn out boring interaction. If I hear another full chapter about how everyone is Max's 'family' I'm done with the series

The content and develop that happens in this book could have been more entertaining if it was done in 1/3 the time. the story drags and the same topic is bright up over and over without and movement happening. The voice acting and narration was good though.
