About this listen

An enemies-to-lovers spicy romance set in the world of video gaming from the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis—available only in audio!

Viola Bowen has the chance of a lifetime: to design a video game based on her all-time favorite book series. The only problem? Her co-lead is Jesse F-ing Andrews, a.k.a. her arch-nemesis. Jesse has made it abundantly clear over the years that he wants nothing to do with her–and Viola has no idea why.

When their bosses insist a wintery retreat is the perfect team-building exercise, Viola can’t think of anything worse. Being freezing cold in a remote mountain lodge knowing Jesse is right next door? No, thank you.

But as the snow piles on, Viola discovers there’s more to Jesse than she knew, and heat builds in more ways than one.

Follows hazelwood’s tried and tested formula. I prefer her longer books but this is still great

Feel good short story

Such a cute story with a surprising amount of suspense! I do wish it was a duet but the performance was great.

So cute

It was okay. Jessie and Viola just felt a little bland to me as a couple. They're not so much enemies to lovers, more longstanding misunderstanding to lovers. The steamy scenes felt... awkward. I say this as someone who regularly reads smutty romance. I got the feeling that it was supposed to come across as wanting to show building tension and them getting used to each other, but it just felt a little cringe while listening to it.

Narrator did great!

A short audio book was quite a nice change of pace for an easy listen and a good length to crack on with some day to day bits!

It was fast paced so it got straight into the story line so a lot still happened in a short time so I enjoyed it.

As it was a short light read, you’re not as invested in the characters so you don’t really get that book hangover feeling where you’re left wanting more so the abrupt ending is not such a surprise.

A fun and easy listen
