About this listen
'Moving and insightful' - Rosanna Davison
Remarkably honest, brutally heroic and darkly humorous memoir following a devastating diagnosis of early onset Parkinson's disease.
Twitch is a frank and funny memoir about picking up the pieces when personal tragedy hits. In 2021, Irish Examiner columnist, stylist, author and podcaster Annmarie O'Connor was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease, an incurable neurodegenerative condition broadly affecting movement and mental health. Though she is no longer working as a stylist as part of her career due to Parkinson's complications, Twitch outlines her journey from a life-altering diagnosis to becoming an activist and agent of change.©2025 Annmarie O'Connor (P)2025 Bonnier Books UK
Beautiful & Heartfelt

A beautifully written, and read, as I listened on Audible, funny and yet emotional account of Annemarie’s Parkinson’s diagnosis.
I enjoyed every minute of listening to this book, I laughed and cried as I navigated Annemarie’s journey with her Parkinson’s diagnosis.
Side note Annemarie should narrate more books I loved listening to her voice.

Brilliant moving read

It’s beautifully narrated by the author herself, Annmarie O’Connor, in that lovely mid-Atlantic lilt of hers — a voice that dances somewhere between Cork and New York. The story, while often humorous, charts her brave and at times arduous journey after being diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s.
Annmarie’s mission is clear: to strip away the stigma, spark honest conversation, and help others feel a little less alone when facing the realities of chronic illness. She reminds us, too, of the importance of leaning on our people — family, doctors, and the wider community — as we find our footing through life’s tougher chapters.
I can’t recommend this book enough for anyone touched, directly or indirectly, by Parkinson’s. It’s a story of courage, wit, and the indomitable Irish spirit that refuses to be quieted.
An honest account of Parkinson’s Disease

This is an extremely harsh review. Amazon no longer facilitates “a listen to” before you purchase. The tone of the author was very mono throughout… again, I am very harsh & I do not meant to be…. It is a dates & facts story of the authors experience from diagnosis to now…
I was either unable to or was listening for the comical aspects…
My recommendation is that if the life experience of the author - resonates with you in any way - Purchase the book & at least read/listen to the first 6 chapters … chapter 7 had me closing out of audible & giving the book an extremely poor rating …
A very depressing amazon audio experience…
