Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges....
Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Worth reading/hearing
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would. it has a strong story with a very good narrator.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I loved the strength of character and the tussle between Vlad and Leila - the moments when Leila lays down her wants and Vlad refuses to give way - the scene when he walks away and she leaves is so strong!
Any additional comments?
This is the second book about Vlad and Leila and the strong story continues. Really enjoyed the complex situations and story development. Will definitely be looking out for the next book in the series.

Disappointing
What disappointed you about Twice Tempted?
Having read the first book which enjoyed I was looking forward to this instalment but found that the story line poor and the book never grabbed me like the first. Maybe the next book will make up for this one.
What could Jeaniene Frost have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Improved the story line.
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Tavia Gilbert?
I like Tavia Gilbert's narration.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Twice Tempted?
unsure.
Any additional comments?
Make up for this under par performance in the next book!

Good story, but not as good as her other books
I've loved Jeaniene Frosts books, but this one felt a little frustrating as far as the lead female is concerned.
Vlad is written well, as a very complex and scarred Vampire, but the way Leila is written just comes across as very shallow, and willing to chuck away all her principles for some bedroom antics.
I found her acting for the most part as a sulky stroppy teenager, and then in the next breath almost superhuman in her ability to seem to ignore any injuries to be a sub par hero.
Far from the strong character Kat is in her Night Huntress series.
I'm hoping that this is just a blip, as I already said, I love Jeaniene Frosts other books.
I will say I dont really like this "Eastenders style" ending to her books, as this one felt like half a story, just stretched out with boring filler, ending it with a "Tune into tomorrow, same Bat-time, same Bat-Channel" (showing my age with that one)
Hopefully the next "episode" of this story will be better.

Amazing story, a very interesting take on the historical character Vlad Tepesh. Horror, supernatural elements, romance & smut - makes for a brilliant listen. Brilliant series. Tavia Gilbert is very good at bringing the characters & the story to life! Definitely recommend! Couldn't put it down - listened to it at work. I love how the characters evolve over these first 2 books, looking forward to seeing how they evolve further through the series

awesome
I was actually introduced to this author through this knight Prince series with Vlad and Leyla. I loved it so much I went off to find out what else she'd written, realised these books sit within the whole other story arc of the knight huntress world with cat and bones and promptly started working my way through that series.
firstly if you too didn't realise these books are stories within a larger story I highly recommend reading the whole series in order. I've seriously enjoyed it.
secondly this is my second read/listen to Vlad and layla's story, because I wanted to listen again knowing the fuller context of the wider story arc, along with all the other characters, and I'm really glad I did. you by no means have to, I loved these books the first time before I realised the bigger story existed, but I'm really glad I have read them again within the bigger story arc because there are little references to things that have happened previously that I now understand this time round, because ' I was there' in a previous book, which, for me, just makes the stories a little richer, but as I said by no means necessary.
the vlad and Leyla story arc within the night huntress world is really great and this is another great story. Ever wondered what would happen if you break up with a vampire? is he just your ex? and how do you deal with a break up while fighting for your life? another great story.

A real let down
I got this after reading the first in the series, which I thought was okay-ish, and only bought this as the first book ended with a clear continuation. I love the original Night Huntress series and Vlad was one of my favourite characters, but he was a huge disappointment in this series. I also hate Leila as a character, and rather than coming across as strong and capable, she just seems irritating and stupid. She constantly gets in the way and make situations worse and really can't understand why Vlad would fall for her at all. All in all this was one huge let down and I won't be bother with the next in the series as, at this point, I really couldn't care less what happens with these characters. I just hope Frost doesn't include Leila too much in any future Night Huntress books or that series will be ruined too.

Entertaining
To appreciate book 2 you need to listen to the first in the series. It's not a deep read but it's a good listen if you like fantasy novels. I will need a bit of a break before I decide whether book 3 is worth the credit as vlads blood thirsty pain inflicting behaviour and Layla's easy acceptance of it is a little bit beyond the realms of understandable behaviour in my mind even for a fantasy novel. Still a 4 star read though as it kept me entertained whilst putting up new blinds :)

Another cliff-hanger, more Vlad and Leila to come!
Wow! I just finished listening to Twice Tempted and I am blown away. I have been counting the months, days and then minutes after listening to "Once Burned", the first story about Vlad and Leila. I preordered the audiobook and downloaded it seconds after it appeared in my library.
The first story was really interesting, as unlike the previous novels in the Night Huntress World where the vampires, ghouls and demons have special powers, this time it is Leila, the human, who has extraordinary gifts. However, unlike the Night Huntress novels which achieved closure for the main story arc in each novel, Once Burned left us hanging.
This story has even more plot twists, with unpredictable events continually surprising the reader, yet they are integrated seamlessly into the plot line. Lots of trouble, broken hearts and romance, action and adventure, loyalty and betrayal. What a wild ride!
However, at the end, just when I thought the whole plot was going to wrap up nicely, Jeanine Frost left us with another cliff hanger! I am really glad that there will be more Vlad and Leila, but now I need to go scour the author's website to see how long I will have to spend in agonized waiting to find out how this story finally ends! I sure hope it won't be any longer than the wait for this book.
If you read Once Burned, if you are a Night Huntress Cat and Bones fan, this is a must buy audiobook. However if you are as impatient as I am, you may want to wait until this mini series within the larger Night Huntress World has concluded, as the wait is really going to kill me!
Once again, Tavia Gilbert has done a fantastic job with the narration and her skill really enhanced an already exciting story, and bravo to her and Frost for another great story. Hmmm. I think I'll have to listen to them back to back next. . . or maybe listen to the entire series again, as I do not want to leave the Night Huntress World!

A Book FULL of events and actions
This book is worth the wait, you wouldn't expect all the events that will happen here, you would think they will be continuing the search as all will think so. But no, this one is full of heart breaks, hearts unbreaks, death and surprises....
when i recall what happened here, i'm actually surprised of all the events... I would say its better than the first one..
Narration is great as always, Tavia is a really good narrator.
What is negative in this series is its length, the Cat & Bones books are longer than these ones, and I would really like if the 3rd book of this series would be longer .
So, another great addition to Frost's books, and can't wait to read the next book (which ever series its going to be from)

Better than the first book!
I really enjoyed the second book in the series. The first 20% of the book is available for free on the internet. I like the way J. Frost keeps Vlad and Leila true to their characters. Vlad is a mid evil alpha male who is use to people following his wishes without question. Leila is a modern women with a big heart. She has no real concern for her own safety and is not going to take orders from her lover. Vlad made it very clear when he first met Leila that he could never love her. Leila falls in love with Vlad anyway. Leila tries to renegotiate the relationship with Vlad. Vlad can not make any commitments to her beyond making her part of his line as a vampire. Leila decides one sided love is just too painful to live with for a life time as a human or a vampire. She walks out on Vlad. He lets Leila go without much of a fight. Perhaps he thought she was bluffing. Vlad just does not understand the independent, modern woman. Leila does leave and Maximus helps her stay safe. Ultimately Leila and Maximus are kidnapped. Vlad rescues them and brings them back to the castle. That is when the fun really begins!
Things become very hot between Vlad and Leila. Leila ultimately realizes that Vlad does love her. She confronts Vlad with it. He actually does say those three little words to her. Once Vlad realizes he loves Leila, he has to decide what he wants to do about it. Vlad has to be in the driver's seat so he makes decisions without discussing them with Leila. It is so Vlad. There is a lot more that happens. They have to figure out who is attacking Leila and why. They also have to figure out who they are as a couple.
This book is action packed with so many twists and turns that I could not put it down. The book ends with a cliff hanger. I can not wait for the final book in the series.

Smoking hot in all the right ways
I am a huge fan of Jeaniene Frost and Vlad is by far my favorite character! I am team Vlad all the way. He's cold-hearted and ruthless but he has a passion like no other character in print. Everything about him is smoking hot (literally!)
I absolutely loved this 2nd installment of the Night Prince series. It had action, romance, drama, suspense, plot twists, mystery and last but not least hot sex!
The story was fun and exciting from start to finish and never got boring! Not to mention Tavia Gilbert is AMAZING at narration. The story had something for everyone in it.
My only complaint....the story was too short! I want more! Can't wait until the next book.
5 Star listen and well worth a credit and then some.

5 STARS - 5 WORDS - YOU JUST WON'T FIND BETTER
Well it's all been said before so all I can do is join my fellow reviewers in saying this is a fantastic unmissable vampire series written by a very talented author who, as usual, fills each of her characters with such great personalities that range from quirky, funny, sexy, evil, likeable and downright loveable. Then she creates and adds them to thrilling plots that have sub plots, passion, humour, sex, intrigue, romance and some "Wow, I didn't see that coming" moments.
Couple all that with the gifted narration of Tavia Gilbert who breathes life into every character then she gives each situation just the right amount of feeling whether it's excitement, anxiety, passion or grief. She shows what a big difference a good narrator makes to a book and highlights the perfect synergy that can be obtained between the two to make it a truly enjoyable and pleasurable listen.
Worth a credit? Anything in this genre written by JF is an automatic download for me, - so that wouldn't just be a YES (and.... shhh don't tell Audible) but I would have happily used 2 credits.

Hot as Hell !
Where does Twice Tempted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Very High!
What did you like best about this story?
The chemistry between Vlad and Leila is sizzling hot and you just become captured by it!
What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?
Tavia is one of my favorite readers...She gives it her all in every Jeaniene Frost Book and her performance in this book was no less spectacular. Cant wait for her performance in the last Leila and Vlad book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Vlad confessed his love for Leila (FINALLY!) I had tears streaming down my cheeks....such a stubborn man!
When Leila finally embraced her inner dark Goddess and let loose with her power....talk about Girl Power!
Any additional comments?
Vlad always had my attention in the Bones and Cat series. He was the helpful and comical sidekick so to speak, but he was just sooo intriguing a character I couldnt wait for him to have his own book. 'Once burned' I liked SO much.... Twice Tempted I LOVE!
I've been waiting for this book for a looong time and I now I have to wait for the last part for the trilogy in order for me to have closure. Im so invested in this story and with Tavia's voice, I've been known to snap at anyone who actually dares to disturb me during Vlad and Leila's adventures....
How dare they?! Cant they see Im in the middle of emotional trauma from Frost's amazing fantasy?!
Hmpf!
As much as I love Bones and Cat, I feel connected to Leila in a different way. Perhaps because she's semi-human and has been through tough times (which makes her even more human and relatable), I can actually see myself as Leila....and who wouldn't want a man as Flaming HOT as Vlad? With all of his alpha male genes, passion and humor, he makes a pretty ideal knight in shining armor....or should I say....A flaming dragon in the sky? ;D

Absolutely Loved This Book!
Would you listen to Twice Tempted again? Why?
I would listen to the entire series again. I loved the story with its twists and turns. Tavia Gilbert does an excellent job portraying each character. If I have any criticism it is that the book was too short and now I going to have to wait patiently for the next.
What other book might you compare Twice Tempted to and why?
JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. Same idea with each book being on specific characters and the cast of characters appearing in each book.
Which scene was your favorite?
I laughed when she awakes one morning thinking she is Mrs. Dracula and he states something about if she introduces herself like that he will make her regret it. I laughed out loud. I also like the scene when she is in blood rage and he helps her through it with a whole lot of passion. Although there were so many scenes I loved it is really hard to say.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Not sure but whoever plays the part needs to have a massive amount of sex appeal:)
Any additional comments?
If you have not read this series you need to start. I could not stop listening.

Can it get any hotter!
Would you listen to Twice Tempted again? Why?
Absolutely! I'm sure I missed something with all the action and passion!
What does Tavia Gilbert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ms. Gilbert is great at making you feel as if you are truly hearing Leila voice! She has an amazing way of bringing Frost's words to life!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed and cried. I hoped and despaired. This book is HOT. With Vlad and his fiery temperament, his fire ability and the smoken hot sex scenes! I loved it!
Any additional comments?
A great spinoff series. One of the best I've ever read!

Book of the year
Frost's writing takes you thru intense and such seemingly realistic emotions that all the supernatural stuff is just fun icing and secondary. You'll experience the intense emotional wrench as the Heroine has to make one of the hardest decisions of her life but I so wished I was like her when confronted with a strong man whose emotions were so walled up his pride ran the show.
Even if you didn't read the first book of this spin off from the Night Huntress series, you will love Leila and get caught up quickly. Vlad? No writer in the history of this genre has made a Vlad so complex, delicious and dangerous.
Tavia Gilbert works hard to bring the personalities and accents of the narrative to life. And boy does she take you to the heights at pivotal points in the story. It'll bring you to your tip toes.
Thank you Ms Frost for the perfect sequel and the perfect cliffhanger--that satisfies yet tantalizes!
Out of 20 or so books this year, this is my vote for best of the year.
