About this listen

Architects in 1970's Houston struggle to keep up with the town's growth. Relegated to two story apartment projects, with no urban plan, Bogota Architects cannot compete with waves of outsider developers with money and plans for high rise structures. In a stream of consciousness style, the author swims through days at the office. It is all the stuff Ayn Rand forgot to say in the Fountainhead.

Please note Patrick Darnell wrote the first draft of this book in 1985. He had moved to Chicago in 1979 from Houston, and after five years he realized all the problems with architectural business are apparently universally present in big urban areas.
