No one writes emotionally challenging situations like Angel Van Atta, so I was ready to go on this journey. What I was not ready for, was how difficult the choices were going to be and how brutal the ways in which I was going to die by choosing which path to take.

This was the most difficult of the TNTD books I’ve read so far, but I loved it because of that. I was literally torn apart whenever I had to make a decision, even more so because of the emotional charge behind the story. Not only that, but there are some seriously creepy scenes!

As I listened to this in audiobook format, I didn’t know how the “Choose Your Own Adventure” style was going to work, but I have to say that it was a great experience, and the narration by Andrea Emmes was likewise.

If you want to have a different listening experience trying to escape a cult, then this is the one.

Thanks to the author for the opportunity to listen to it and this is my honest opinion.

Great experience with some very creepy scenes!

Same as other parts of the series, the choice options need a second split, even 3rd before conclision. Compared to other entries from the series the story of this book is well tought, lets you gradually learn the setting but also being engaged in the action. Well balanced revealing of the setting and well balanced action with relatable action decisions. Some of the death scenes are a bit over the top describing teenagers as very fragile and easy to get hurt.

The only shortfall comes by how short the story is. I would not spend audible credit for this book.

Very short
