Wonderful dual narration from Chloe Ryan and Michael Gallagher

If you want to listen to a dark twist romance this is the book.
Sydney accepts an invitation to an exclusive lodge, where she finds herself being used as an innocent pawn in this game of Truth or Kill. Her only option and way out is to play the game through till its eventual conclusion. Only one person seems to be her ally is lodge employee Gage, but he has his own agenda and secret's ones that might just get Sydney killed.

so this story had great potential and I actually enjoyed the revenge plot. why I have it 3 🌟 is because the Hero Kage did not live up to the hyped expectations, the heroine was slapped and choked by another man and even punched & the Hero did nothing. he did nothing during the time at the lodge because he didn't want to divert from the "plan" but then after the revenge why didn't the Hero punish the culprit. I was waiting for him to stand up for his lady later , we were promised an Alpha, a killer but the Hero basically dint kill anyone. The Hero didn't even threaten anyone . the romance was ok. the spice was ok but nothing special. it's such a shame this would have been 5 stars had the separation at the end been executed better. it wasn't even necessary in my opinion because they could still have been together. if you want touch her & die vibes this isn't it. if you want OTt, possessiveness this isn't it. i still enjoyed listening to the book .

This was my first read by A.C. Kramer. A group of rich people a brought to a retreat in which it turns into a game of exposure of secrets and blck.mail. Now this is a game you don't want to join. It sorta has a sq.uid games feel to it. Kage is disguised working on the resort is in partner running the game. He is definitely morally grey. Sydney comes in basically dragged in by her friend but Kage takes a liking to her. A bit different. I really enjoyed the audio.

So a funny story. I went to Allure Audiobook Con in Chicago this September (2022) and ordered a signed copy of this book without having read or listened to it beforehand because the blurb caught my attention.
Now having listened to it, I'm so glad I have a copy in my collection.
I loved this story so much.
It's dark and twisty and suspenseful with just the right amount of steam. Yum.
I loved Kage and Sydney even if some of the stuff is questionable. I overlooked it for the story. It fit so I enjoyed it.
This story kept me captivated from the beginning and I recommend to dark romance lovers.
