Love love love

I’ve read all of the Aiden Waits books by Joseph Knox and loved all three. Having been a student in Manchester myself, albeit a long time a go, the Aiden waits books filled me with nostalgia for the city, so when I heard about True Crime story, once again set in Manchester and in student halls no less, I was excited for its release. It did not disappoint! I’m so glad I got the audiobook version, it really brings to life the interviews, and I particularly enjoyed Knox himself, having inserted himself into the narrative. Pure genius! A must read, especially if you’ve ever lived in Manchester as a student!! Kept me guessing right to the end :-D

Great Stuff

A great example of a really effective use of the audiobook format.

Multiple narrators are given their own voice by the actors adding to a great twisty plot!

Highly recommended!

I don't even know where to begin...

I hope it's a better read, because it doesn't work here at all. The multiple narrators does do it any justice. It starts so impossibly slow, the first 5 or 6 chapters feel like a massive waste of time. And the conclusion is such an unbelievable stretch.

Hooked!

Absolutely amazing voice actors who truely brought the story to life. The story itself was also very engaging. Definitely did not see that ending coming, and it's always a good sign when I am genuinely gobsmacked by an ending!

loved it!

I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end.
The performance of the various characters throughout was brilliant. Initially I was worried with so many characters I wouldn't know who was talking, but you quickly get to know each one as if you've met them yourself.
The story is so intriguing, full of surprises, and unexpected twists and turns from start to finish.
I just love the way this story is written, I wish I could forget it all and listen as if it were the first time again and again!

One word - Sensational!!

This book is absolutely gripping from the first word until the very last. Didn’t want it to end!! The voiceovers were terrific and truly brought this book to life, which makes it even more immersive.

So cleverly done, I wish there was somehow another one to follow this on, even if it was just to follow the characters through their lives - I’m so invested!!

Must give it a listen/read. Epic.
