About this listen

They are my harvest, and I will reap them all.

Returning to Guthrie, Oklahoma, for the funeral of his mysterious and beloved aunt, Sue, Adam Binder once again finds himself in the path of deadly magic when a dark druid begins to prey on members of Adam’s family. It all seems linked to the death of Adam’s father many years ago - a man who may have somehow survived as a warlock.

Watched by the police, separated from the man who may be the love of his life, compelled to seek the truth about his connection to the druid, Adam learns more about his family and its troubled history than he ever bargained for, and finally comes face-to-face with the warlock he has vowed to stop.

Meanwhile, beyond the Veil of the mortal world, Argent the Queen of Swords and Vic the Reaper undertake a dangerous journey to a secret meeting of the Council of Races...where the sea elves are calling for the destruction of humanity.

Great settings, good character development, just enough romance, great reading performance, very many interesting characters. A fun and original fantasy partly set in our real world, our very real and sometimes cruel dingy world.

Fun real-world fantasy

Came across this series by accident and was so glad I did! Well worth a read!

A hidden gem!

Lapped up this and the previous book in under a week. Un-put-downable. I only started listening when I couldn't sleep because they had amusing titles but it turns out they are really well written and have characters I care a lot about now. That ending though!!!! So unfair! I don't know if I can wait until October to find out what happens!

Great fantasy with strong characterisation

Having stumbled by chance on the first audio book as it was free, I was enthralled from the start and quickly listened to this second book. I equally loved this one and thought it was cleverly done. The story maintained the pace and tension throughout, but kept the same endearing charm of all the characters. I did get a bit confused at times with the story twists - but have now bought both books so I can refer back to those parts. Both Adam and Vic are great characters. Can’t wait the book number 3. Can’t recommend these enough.

I never really know what to say on a review but it’s a fifteen character obligation so Uhm here’s some of my thoughts?

First off, this one was a lot slower then the first book took me double the time to finish it, I’m not a big fan of mc and love interests being in two different places, I also wish Adam would just power up for gods sake.

He’s no longer has to be the perfect design death made him, so I wished he’d change a bit, because the reason most of this shit happens is because he isn’t powerful enough on his own so he has to go searching for power from beings you wouldn’t normally ask for help.

Also can Adam and Bobby bridge that gap already it’s already been said that everything that happened was already put in stone by death HERSELF. Feels kind of pointless for Adam to still be upset since he would’ve ended up in Liberty house regardless on wether death had persuaded Bobby or not, also can we talk about how I’m actually disappointed that the Druid wasn’t the dad.

Also I wished there’d be a family reunion for Adam who actually benefited him, and not cause anymore grief.

I’m still gonna listen to the third book.
